Shuttle disaster report due
An independent report into the fatal break up of the Columbia space shuttle is expected to be highly critical of the US space agency Nasa.

<<snip>>

The CAIB report will recommend strengthening the remaining shuttles and the introduction of some kind of in-orbit repair kit that allows astronauts to fix similar problems in future.

<<snip>>

"Nasa's performance, its organisation, its underlying values and culture have not been up to expectations and we have a lot of recommendations about how to change that," he said.

<<snip>>

Dr Logsden said Nasa had not learn enough from the Challenger accident, when concerns from engineers were not acted on by senior managers.

And he criticised the agency's "lack of constant vigilance and lack of curiosity" about things that were not supposed to be happening.

Certain Nasa staff did make request for images to be taken of Columbia in orbit to assess the damage, but these were never acted on.

1. Amazing what happens...
When they actually finance an investigation (i.e. 50 million to check into the shuttle disaster, 3 million for 9-11).

Bastards...

2. The blame should go on the head who just left.

Do you remember the NASA head who just left? I forgot his name. Did you see his parting speech.

He lavished great words on Papa Bush who had appointed him. Such great words... on and on... then he went right to Junior and vomited up more feces praise for Junior, He never once said 'Clinton''s name even though Clinton let him stay on for 8 years.

I personally watched this speech. Fact of history, look it up if you can.

3. Well that was fast
Any idea on when we're going to get to hear about Dick Cheney's Double Secret Energy Commission from early 2001 or a full report on just what led up to the events of September 11, 2001?

Or is it illegal under the USA PATRIOT Act to ask?

4. They killed those people because they didn't want to look.
Yes, Bush had reduced their budget. Yes, they had fixed costs and fixed plans and because of those cuts they had hard hard decisions on what may have to be dropped, exacerbated with the prospect of the unthinkable possibility of what actually did happen. But, not to look, not to try.

That still seems sick to me.
