Activists Find Home Near Bush* Ranch
CRAWFORD, Texas - President Bush (news - web sites) is not the only show in this sleepy town any more.

A few months ago, a Dallas peace activist bought a house near the Bush's ranch so that hundreds of demonstrators trekking into Crawford have a place to gather and voice their dissent of the Iraq (news - web sites) war and other issues. They speak words that some residents here could do without hearing.

"We wanted to have a place to speak our truth from," said John Wolf, who paid the down payment on the $54,000 house with proceeds from the sale of $1 buttons at peace rallies. "The idea is to provide a voice for those truly affected by the administration's policies."

Blue yard signs saying "War is not the answer" greet visitors as they walked up to the one-story house with cream-colored siding. A dog snoozed at the front door. Kay Lucas, wearing a button that said "Dissent is Patriotic," stood on the porch wiping sweat from her brow.

1. I was there this weekend for the
Bring Them Home Now rally. It's a great place. I also met the cowboy from Montana that is riding across the country to promote feeding the hungry children of the world by reducing our military expenditure. He's there right now to meet the president, but doesn't think he'll get a chance because he believes the president only cares about the rich of the world.

2. More power to 'em.
Surely they are prepared to be harrassed night and day to encourage them to leave.

Hope they make themselves at home!

6. So true and those who think it is a ranch
live in trailer parks called Greenbrier Estates . No more cowboys wrangling steer on Dubyas place than there are chauffeurs parking Bentleys at trailer parks .

4. It's great to see more and more people finding new ways to show
thier dissatifaction with the current administration. What's even better is to see the press picking up on these stories.
