Cheney Invokes 9/11 Memories in Campaign
By LAURA MECKLER, Associated Press Writer

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. - Vice President Dick Cheney on Friday invoked memories of the Sept. 11 attacks three years ago as he explained the Bush administration's reasons for going to war in Iraq . He rejected the idea that the reason was Iraq's rich oil reserves.

In a town hall meeting for an invited audience, Cheney was asked to respond to accusations that the United States went to war "just for the oil." The vice president first noted that "in Afghanistan, there isn't any oil." He went on to explain reasons for the war in Iraq, including Saddam Hussein's defiance of United Nations resolutions. ..

1. "in Afghanistan, there isn't any oil."
No, but the Taliban was in the way of a pipeline.

Funny how he forgot to mention that.

And that's why only the party faithful are allowed at Bush and Cheney campaign events.

2. The Taliban were in the
way of poppy growers. They had shut it down as much as they could. We ran the Taliban out now poppies are growning everyplace there.

4. IRQ has the second largest known oil reserves on the planet.
This motherfucker makes it sound like he didn't know IRQ was a major oil producing country.

5. I remember that 9/11 happened because these same guys
didn't do jack shit about the threat of terrorism for the better part of a year. That what I remember about 9/11

6. Wait a minute...
Didn't Cheney substitute "Saddam" for "bin Laden" a couple of times during the speech? Is he back to his old, evil, Mein Kampf tricks? (Do I really have to ask that last question?)

7. "I did not say if Kerry is elected,
we will be hit by a terrorist attack," he said in the interview. "My point was the question before us is, will we have the most effective policy in place to deal with that threat? George Bush (news - web sites) will pursue a more effective policy than John Kerry."

Translation: "I did not say if Kerry is elected we will be hit by a terrorist attack... but actually, that is what I'm saying."

8. Pathetic, Cheyney is pathetic...
However, more pathetic are those who believe this unadulterated BS.

If Bush wins without declaring Martial Law or totally fixing the voting machines, then it will be a horrible stigma on this country. I can't believe it will happen.

10. The Neo Fascists can win.
They own most of the Mess Media. Many Americans are ignorant &/or stupid;some are purposefully ignorant.

Dems and all on the left have to vote against the Neo Fascists, no matter what they think about Kerry/Edwards.

9. When Cheney can continually contradict the unanimous bipartisan
9/11 Commission finding aboutIraq and both 9/11 and a collaborative relationship with Al-Qaeda and not face correction from the Kerry campaign, we have reason to be worried. We also have reason to be angry.
