Veterans focus anger on Warhol photo exhibit (Abu Ghraib)

Some local veterans are outraged over the Andy Warhol Museum's upcoming exhibit that will feature the infamous photographs depicting the abuse of Iraqi prisoners at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.

Museum Director Thomas Sokolowski said "Inconvenient Evidence: Iraqi Prisoner Photographs from Abu Ghraib" will open Sept. 17 at the North Side site. The exhibit will show between eight and 20 photographs.

"This is one of the most appalling things I've ever heard of in my life. This is an embarrassment to the city of Pittsburgh," said Joseph Dugan, president of Soldiers & Sailors National Military Museum & Memorial in Oakland.

"They are convicting people who are still on trial. They're doing a disservice to all of us -- the citizens of the country who support our troops," he said.

1. Well, do what Hitler did! Just hide the art of which you don't approve.
BTW, John A$hcroft did the same thing when he "draped" the breasts of that statue thingy he didn't like.

This is how this war is etched forever in people's memory. there was a great article on this in a NYT Magazine a few months ago. As such, it is now art.
