Saddam's generals working as US military consultants
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=1514&e=2&u=/afp/iraq_us_military

Dozens of Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s former generals and colonels are being paid hundreds of dollars a month by the Pentagon (news - web sites) to advise US and Iraqi officials on how to contain the insurgency in northern Iraq (news - web sites).

(snip)

Up to another 15 generals and colonels sit on a military sub-committee of a senior advisory council that meets twice a month with General John Battiste in Saddam's home province of Salahuddin, said spokesman Major Neal O'Brien.

Those who turn up, take home 100 dollars for each meeting, he added. A well-established network is also operational in Tamim province around the northern oil centre of Kirkuk and another in the adjacent Kurdish province of Sulaimaniya.

-----

Why are they paying Saddam's generals? Aren't they as evil as Saddam? Why invade Iraq only to keep the same people in power? Why doesn't the media jump on this inconsistancy like they are all over the latest on Michael Jackson, Kobe Bryant, etc. stories? :puke:

1. Uh....huh?
This, as most of Bush's policies, doesn't make any damn sense.
The only people they can get are the people they toppled? So why not have left them in power?

Duuuuuhhhh...

2. Waiting for Imperial Pravda to jump on a story like this
is like waiting for Soviet Pravda to cover food and toilet paper shortages in 1978.

Ain't gonna happen.

Oh, perhaps a quick flash-by on the Hypno-Scroller to rpovide plausible deniability for the Pravda Whores ("see, we did show it!")

Nothing more.

I have long ago stopped expecting Imperial Amerikan Media to behave like a Free Press.

And I am NEVER disappointed. At least not since the Old Republic died in 2000.
