DES MOINES, Iowa (Reuters)Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry on Thursday accused the Bush administration of enabling U.S. drug companies to raise prices and declare "open season" on American consumers.
The Massachusetts senator painted President Bush as out of touch with the "real life stories" of people who were struggling to afford health care, doing without it altogether or paying many times more for the same prescription drugs than Canadians. ..
In an interview with the Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Intelligencer Journal,
Teresa Heinz Kerry promoted her husband's health care plan by saying it would be endorsed by legislators -- even naysayers whom she said will find themselves voted out of office if they oppose the plan.
"Only an idiot wouldn't like this," she said. "Of course, there are idiots." ..
