Board to hear concerns over Bush stop

Lee's Summit residents upset with President Bush holding a campaign rally at a local high school will share their concerns tonight with school district officials.

The Board of Education meets at 7 p.m. at the Central Office, 600 S.E. Miller St.

Community members requested to speak with board members after a letter was sent to the district offices earlier this week. The concerns arose after Bush and other Republicans spoke at Lee's Summit High School Tuesday.

Those upset by the rally felt that a partisan rally should not have been held at the publicly-funded facility. Residents are requesting that the school board apologize for the event and, in fairness, invite Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry to speak at the school.

He goes to another NJ high school. And the son saw Bush trip and fall on his face as he exited the stage. It was in GD yesterday.
