Gore: Cheney 'Wrong Choice' Remark Sleazy
PITTSBURGH - Al Gore (news - web sites) on Thursday described Vice President Dick Cheney (news - web sites)'s remark that "the wrong choice" by voters could result in another terrorist attack as "a sleazy and despicable effort to blackmail voters with fear."

In remarks prepared for a speech to the United Steelworkers of America, the former vice president accused President Bush (news - web sites) and Cheney of using fear to promote their re-election because they have what he called a "failed record" on the economy, health care and the war in Iraq (news - web sites).

"The claim by Bush and Cheney that the American people must give them four more years in office or else be 'hit hard' by another terrorist attack is a sleazy and despicable effort to blackmail voters with fear," Gore said.

"They are going back to the ugliest page in the Republican playbook: fear," he said. "They're not even trying to convince you to vote for George Bush (news - web sites). Their only hope is to try and make you too afraid to vote for John Kerry (news - web sites). It's the lowest sort of politics imaginable."

1. Very true, but no surprise. It's all they can do: instill fear, lie, and
smear the opponant. They have nothing to run on but failure.
Filth.

2. Anyone expect anything different from the Nazi-cons?
Didn't think so.

By the way, if they are re-elected in November(not happening), what is going to transpire at the end of term 2 and they are mandated to step down? Are we just doomed to be attacked then because there will no longer be anyone to protect the American public? Or are they planning on making some adjustments so they can stay on indefinitely?

6. Good question!
...what is going to transpire at the end of term 2 and they are mandated to step down? Are we just doomed to be attacked then because there will no longer be anyone to protect the American public? Or are they planning on making some adjustments so they can stay on indefinitely?

Why doesn't some on-the-ball reporter ask Cheney this??

While the amygdala stores primal memories of fear in animals, neurons in the prefrontal cortex create new memories that tell the brain not to be afraid. This helps conserve energy so the animal can function efficiently without being fearful all the time.

5. Wow.
That's a really sinister looking picture of Whistlin' Dick with that article. You suppose one of Yahoo's photo editors might be on our side?

Oh, wait -- they all look like that because Cheney's a reptile. Never mind. </Littella>

8. Ouuuuh! I like the way Gore phrased it!
Much more descriptive than anyone..but Gore can say what he wants. I know from reading about him that he enjoys his freedom now to say exactly what he wants.

11. Will someone please say it!
"IS CHENEY SAYING WE WILL GET HIT HARD, LIKE WE GOT HIT UNDER HIS ADMINISTRATION? CAUSE WE GOT HIT PRETTY HARD RIGHT UNDER HIS NOSE. ARE WE GONNA GET HIT HARDER THAN THEY HIT US ON 9/11, right after Bush and Cheney got back from their month long vacation?

Will someone call a spade a spade.
