Kerry rips Cheney statement.
Edited on Wed Sep-08-04 11:11 PM by annxburns
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A6629-2004Sep8.html

Democrat John F. Kerry yesterday denounced as "outrageous and shameful" Vice President Cheney's statement that Americans risk another terrorist attack if President Bush is not reelected, as congressional Democrats assailed the credibility of a leading administration voice on national security.

Kerry, interviewed in Minnesota by a local television station, said Cheney's statement made it clear that the president and the vice president "will say anything and do anything in order to get elected."

"It is outrageous and shameful to make the war on terror an instrument of their politics," Kerry said. "I defended this country when I was a young man, and they chose not to. And I will defend this country as president of the United States."

Ya know, tweety, maybe he did defend himself and you guys aren't reporting it.

Edit to include some of article

3. Here's the gist

In West Virginia, vice presidential candidate John Edwards said Cheney is seeking to "divide us on the issues of safety and security." (Dale Sparks -- AP)

7. Haha, notice this?
Kerry, interviewed in Minnesota by a local television station, said Cheney's statement made it clear that the president and the vice president "will say anything and do anything in order to get elected."

Notice he didn't say "re-elected". Heh.

"Vote Bush/Cheney or Die."

10. I say Kerry is a coward He shouldn't be waiting for the lying sleaze feces
Bush/Cheney vommit and then react to it! Kerry should be following his heart and the truth. Kerry should go on the offensive and be the first to tell the truth that Bush, through his ignorance and arrogance has caused the attacks on America and in Iraq and all over the world. "Bush is the cause of terrorism, not the solution. If you vote for Bush it is guaranteed America will be hit by terrorism again. If you vote Bush out you will be voting terrorism out of America!"

15. Any time someone calls Kerry a coward
I wonder why they apparently think chimpie is the better choice.

Even if you're pessimistic, it's the lesser of two evils. Why are you singling Kerry's "cowardice" out?

12. It just dawned on me, isn't cheney saying that "if you vote for Kerry we
will be attacked" an admission that THEY (bush*/cheney) aren't doing enough NOW to prevent that? Afterall, they've made the same connection on the frontside that because Clinton "did nothing for all those years, the country was unprepared" even though they had 9 months to actually do something, but when did logic ever stop them from making a false assertion?

Besides the obvious treasonous nature of that statement, he's ridiculing his own administrations policies!

13. Tweety and Whore Howie Fineman should apologize to Kerry
for being all over him for not going after Cheney! HA!

I thought since Cheney is VP that it was perfectly appropriate for Edwards to take him on.

Problem is the damn national media is not doing a great job covering Kerry and Edwards unless it's something that makes one of them look bad.
