Separate roadside bomb attacks around Baghdad have killed three American soldiers, the U.S. military said on Tuesday.
It said one soldier was killed in a blast in Baghdad on Monday afternoon, and another died of his wounds after an explosion on Monday evening.

In a third attack, near Baghdad, another soldier was killed late on Monday when his convoy was targeted.

3. so far...
Edited on Tue Sep-07-04 03:40 AM by LynnTheDem
that's 18 in the past 7 days

More US soldiers dead already in 2004 than in 2003; more US soldiers killed AFTER the capture of Saddam Hussein than before; and MORE US SOLDIERS DEAD IN IRAQ than died in the FIRST FOUR YEARS OF VIETNAM.

Vietnam went on for a decade; Iraq's only been 18 months...

5. Do you think they are releasing the info. on deaths which happened
last week, during the Rep. convention, and were surpressed to avoid raining on their parade? If I'm not mistaken, some DU'ers here were saying it was odd that nothing seemed to happen in Iraq or Afghanistan all WEEK........

You know they are more than capable of lying to us about ANYTHING, and wouldn't hesistate, if it aided their interests.

It does seem fairly unusual that so many people at once have been killed, as soon as we enter the week after?

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Guerrillas attacked U.S. troops in Baghdad's sprawling Shi'ite Sadr City slum district with rocket-propelled grenades on Tuesday, killing one soldier and wounding two, the U.S. army said.
The attack followed four separate roadside bomb blasts on Monday that killed four U.S. soldiers.

The deaths will raise the official Pentagon U.S. death toll to at least 993 since the start of the war in Iraq.

The U.S. military said one soldier was killed in a blast in Baghdad on Monday afternoon, and another died of his wounds after an explosion on Monday evening.

In a third attack, near Baghdad, a soldier was killed late on Monday when his convoy was targeted. And in Qayarrah, near Mosul, one soldier was killed in a blast on the same day.
