Federal agents Friday raided a Roseville medical marijuana dispensary and the owner's Newcastle farm, seizing hundreds of plants that had been the root of a neighborhood uproar.

Drug Enforcement Agency officers simultaneously served federal search warrants at Richard Marino's business and home. Marino, who opened the Capitol Compassionate Care dispensary in January, said the raids were a complete surprise.

No arrests have been made.

2. Statewide law being undermined by locals all over...
Humbolt Counties club was shut down on Sept 12, 2001, basically because the local nazis could get away with it. Sadly, sadly this STATEWIDE LAW is being subjected to local wim. In Republican dominated counties the collusion of DAs local Law and federal law who just decide all of the sudden that they are gonna just violate patients rights.

What bullshit. America is becoming a collection of feudal enclaves and concepts like rule of law or due process are completely abandoned. Liberals have to live in their area or else they are fucked.

3. Talk about a disconnect with reality...
from the article, capitalization emphasis mine:

The conflict between state and federal law regarding medical marijuana deepened recently after two rulings by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals held that federal authorities *DO NOT* have the power to go after noncommercial medical marijuana operations confined within the state.

The U.S. Department of Justice is appealing the cases to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Richard Meyer, special agent in the DEA's San Francisco division, said dispensaries operating elsewhere in the state also are in violation of the law. (CALIFORNIA LAW SAYS OTHERWISE)

"They should know that they are breaking the law," Meyer said. "They should get out of the business of selling drugs."
