Clintons embark on swing through GOP turf
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP)

With the national political conventions out of the way, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton embarks Friday on a two-day swing with her husband, the former president, that has the trappings of a personal campaign kickoff.

Sen. Clinton is gearing up for a 2006 re-election bid seen by many as a prelude to a run for president in 2008 should John Kerry fail in his bid for the White House this year.

The Clintons' trip will take them from the State Fair in Syracuse into far northern New York, a traditional Republican stronghold where the former first lady ran surprisingly well in her 2000 election victory.

"Senator Clinton did well upstate four years ago because she made the concerns of upstate New York a priority," said political adviser Howard Wolfson on Thursday. "She has continued that focus in the Senate and will cede no part of the state in the future." ..

11. Really, and what site did you hear that on? Couldn't be
the Free Republic?

I hear Rush is a drug addict. And that your president was a doper,
and that Bill Bennett has a gambling addiction, and gee, ya remember
that Livingston guy - he was into leather and beatings -

But personally I think if a president could do a better job by having
a girl friend applying "massages" in the oval office, and if that kept the economy in America in the fantastic shape it was in when
Bill Clinton was president, and if it could keep us out of wars, then
taxpayers should hire a "masseuse" to keep a president primed to take
care of this country, instead of destroying it.

Just my opinion.

5. Syracuse? Republican stronghold? Hil does this EVERY summer, and she
probably won Syracuse by a wide margin in 2000. I'm sure that this is just to scare Republicans into donating money to their party.

6. Sounds Like They Are Hoping Bush Will Win
So Hillary can run in 2008 (assuming we have a country left)

Doesn't smell good to me...

Bill Clinton should be touring now on behalf of Kerry-Edwards and Hiliary should join him as her schedule permits.

Why do DUers keep buying into this RW garbage? Hillary and Bill attend the N.Y. State Fair EVERY YEAR. She's not allowd to run for her own reelection?

They have said repeatedly that they plan to campaign for Kerry, and they will.

10. I think it's good she's out campaigning
because she will mention Kerry in every speech and she will raise money for democrats.

12. "Sounds Like They Are Hoping Bush Will Win"
interesting... that's the same line used on fux news.

was flipping through the channels and saw something on hillary.

backed up to see what it was, and of course if was fox news.

as principle i NEVER watch anything fox. but i watched as their newsperson sprung their meme.

the gist was:

where are the clintons? you'd think they would be just outside madison square garden priming the response to all the spin coming from inside.

but they aren't. they aren't even in manhattan. where are they?

they are going to northern new york state to the state fair.

they are going to look at bulls, rather than respond to what they would call "bull" coming from the convention.

you'd think they would be pulling out all the stops to support their man kerry.

do you think they have an agenda?
