Court Bans Nader from PA Ballot

Associated Press

HARRISBURG --- A panel of three state judges today rejected Ralph Nader's bid to be listed as an independent candidate on Pennsylvania's presidential ballot, saying he forfeited that right by accepting the nomination of the national Reform Party.

The Commonwealth Court panel dismissed Nader's argument that the state's ban on members of a political party running for office as independent candidates applies only to Pennsylvania residents. It said Nader's acceptance of the national Reform Party nomination in May also bars him from the Pennsylvania ballot.

4. One of Two Reasons to be Thrown off the Ballot
Edited on Mon Aug-30-04 02:35 PM by JPZenger
Personally, I'd rather that Nader would have been thrown off the ballot for such faulty nominating petitions. His own attorney admitted a couple days ago that he probably did not have enough valid signatures. They hired homeless people in Philadelphia to collect the signatures, paying them per name.

---
I visited a Nader message board. They were complaining that so many Democrats were rude to them when they were trying to collect signatures for Nader nominating petitions. Surprise!

6. He (Nader) is a dead man
Also, it doesn't look as if he is getting any media coverage other than the news of his failure to make state ballots. He will be a non-factor in Nov.
