Saboteurs halt Iraqi oil exports
Edited on Mon Aug-30-04 09:46 AM by SidDithers
from CBC

The southern pipelines account for 90 per cent of Iraq's oil exports. The oil stopped flowing on Sunday night, and officials told the Associated Press they weren't likely to resume for a week.

I know, I know, it's another dog bites man story. Wonder if it will get reported with all the convention hoopla.

1. Negroponte wants to divert $billions from civilian infrastructure
Such as power, water and sewage treatment to pipeline security. Here is the reason why, although it will never work. It will just anger the population even more. A vicious spiral, which is what the BFEE is best at.

6. Wouldn't look good to have oil shut off during Repub convention
Thus, this must be a "hoax". Lots of Republicans are perfectly happy with the idea that the invasion was for oil and nothing else. They could care less about the morality of it, but the do expect results.

Anyway, that is my interpretation.
