Angry Gay Republicans Accuse Bush Of Selling Out To "radical Right"
NEW YORK, Aug 29 (AFP) -

Gay Republicans on Sunday warned US President George W. Bush he was at grave risk of losing their vote, accusing him of selling out to the party's "radical right" over gay marriage.

The Log Cabin Republicans, a group of openly homosexual party members, fired the shot across Bush's bows ahead of start the party's convention, a festival of party unity at which he will be nominated for a second term.

After a meeting aimed at touting the Republicans as a "big tent" party, inclusive of all kinds of voters, Log Cabin members said Bush risked tearing the party apart by backing a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage.

"The president's support for a federal constitutional amendment and his decision to talk about this stance during the campaign has jeopardized the support of gay Americans for the president," said Log Cabin's executive director Patrick Guerriero.

8. How smart can these people be, actually getting to this point?
They asked for it. They have never been a group that was respected at all. This can't be the only thing they disgree with the party about. They need to come together and have a news conference with the headline "Log Cabin Republicans endorse John Kerry for President"
That ought to be clear to them.

12. You're "different"; they hate you! That's what conservatism is about.
Don't let the "make sure the rich are protected" elements sway you; your self-interest should steer you away from these primitives.

Conservatism is about selfishness and fear of change; that'll never change. Dress it up as they may as "responsible", the prime mechanics of conservatism are to freeze time, and the only ones who truly comprise their real constituency are those who think they're benefiting by things as they are: the rich, the stupid who are afraid of change, puritan and thugs who don't like the oversight of the group.

Considering how much these people hate sex, it's only common sense that they'd REALLY hate "weird" sex.

Gay Republicans have a very simple choice about their core loyalties: is it more important to be allowed to exist as they are, or is it more important to be able to selfishly amass wealth without oversight. They're not going to change the party.

15. I have seen their spokesman twice
in recent days and he talks very intelligently...so why is he GOP? He said he agreed with various policies of Bush like cutting taxes and things like that, but everything else he said he sounded like a Democrat. This group, if anything like this spokesman, would be the far liberal wing of the GOP, so why not just join the Democrats. I don't think the GOP wants the gays in their party.

Party leaders working with platform delegates on both sides of the abortion issue settled on a declaration Wednesday night that Republicans .....

53. I am looking forward to reading reports of the right-wing fratricide.
If the Rethugs get into a fight with the LCGOP, it betters our position. If the LCGOP win the power strugle, the Fawell-Robertson-Moon Faction loses power and if the LCGOP loses the power strugle, the chances of a number of ex-LCGOPers may switch parties.

I believe that a schism on the right will dramaticaly help our cause and could be immenent.
