Explosion kills 7 at U.S. firm in Kabul (Dyncorp)

A powerful car bomb detonated outside the office of a U.S. security contractor in the Afghan capital Sunday, killing at least seven people, including two Americans, and wounding several others, officials and witnesses said.

Hours earlier, a blast wrecked a religious school in southeastern Afghanistan, reportedly killing at least eight children and one adult and underlining the country's fragile security as it moves toward its first post-Taliban election in October.

What are you talking about? I thought Afghaniwhuh was a stable, secure democracy? I'm sure it must be, 'cause otherwise we'd be hearing more about it in the news -- instead of this "swift boat" and Scott Petersen malarky. Besides, we'd hardly be in Iraq right now, creating a two-front war, with the stability of Afghaniwhuh still uncertain and the Taliban and Al Qaeda leadership still roaming free.
