Anti-Bush mothers' group marches across Brooklyn Bridge
NEW YORK -- Hundreds of people, mostly mothers and many toting small children, marched across the Brooklyn Bridge on Friday to protest against President Bush just days before the Republican National Convention.

The march was organized by a group calling itself Mothers Against Bush, or MOB, but the crowd that gathered at Cadman Plaza on the Brooklyn side of the bridge included many fathers as well.

Bush "has no thought for the future. He just trashes things for the good of the old boys. I'm worried about my children's future," said Cynthia Ruse, who was marching with her husband, Travis, and two daughters, ages 4 and 2.

Asked what her main problem with President Bush was, Ruse said: "Everything. I wouldn't know where to start." The family stroller bore a sign depicting Bush as a bad apple.

4. Good for them. The way the media is portraying the protestors
before they've even *gotten there* really bugs me. I would hope this group would get a mention on the news as well. (Being optimistic here, I know.)

7. And the way too many DUers are buying it
I don't get that either, and it distresses me greatly. OVERWHELMINGLY, people on the Left are anti-violence, not prone to violence. Overwhelmingly, when "violence" breaks out during protests, it's the folks who WORK for the FBI who foment it.

6. I would say I have to agree with her......
I wouldn't know where to start either. There were Republican presidents that I didn't agree with on most of their policies, but I could always find some things that I thought they did right. Not so with this jerk. I can't think of a single thing I like about him or what he's done. Very, very sad commentary on what he's done to the country.

9. I used to challenge his supporter with "Tell me one thing that he has done
with "Tell me one thing that he has done that is good," but now I believe "Tell me one thing that he has done that isn't really bad" is more appropriate.

No, these Neocons who are running this country are not your father's Republicans.

8. bad bad mothers, must be terrrists...... wtf?
can you even believe this shit?.....Police officers, helicopters?

:puke:

<snip>
The group claims 10,000 members in all 50 states _ including Republicans, Democrats and Independents.

The demonstration was peaceful, occasionally stopping so mothers could tend to their children. A police helicopter hovered above the bridge, and police officers were monitoring the march.
