Yahoo Headline : "Now It's Official: Economy Shrunk"
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. economy slowed more sharply in the second quarter than first thought as oil prices rose and the trade gap swelled, the government said on Friday in a report that confirmed momentum faltered in the spring.

1. They'll ignore it
After hearing some of them insist that Thurlow is correct after all evidence to the contrary, I'm convinced that they've totally lost touch with reality. I imagine they'll ignore it and continue to trumpet that the economy is "soaring."

2. I'll try some GOP spin
Examples:

"The shrinking economy allows more fathers and mothers more quality time with their children"

"The shrinking economy keeps more cars and trucks off the roar and is a sign of Bush's commitment to reduce air pollution"

4. The lie of "tax cuts for the rich" as economic stimulus EXPOSED
Bush: Doo doo Economics.

Top Shelf tax cuts do not stimulate the economy. And they are worse than no action at all, since they jam up the deficit and crowd out.

Bush's doo doo economics are a catstrophe for this nation. We are in deep, deep fiscal trouble - thanks especially to the most well-off and greedy among us. The whole Republican lie machine has us close to the cliff, and the engine is real material conditions that brook no slick spin. Very basically: The entire dogma of tax cuts has proven false and counterproductive. the question now: How much longer will we put the pedal to the metal, as the cliff face approaches.

5. Wow, that's sloppy headline writing, Yahoo.
The economy didn't "shrink," not according to the numbers they are citing anyway, but the rate of growth dropped sharply.

Regardless, it's an anemic fucking economy and Bush needs to pay for it.
