Britain's air force to join gay pride festival
LONDON (AFP)

Britain's Royal Air Force is to strike a blow for equality in the military by becoming the first of the country's armed forces to take part in a gay pride event, it said.

Eight RAF officers will join a float at the Gay Pride spectacular this weekend in Manchester, a city in northwest England with a strong gay community, an RAF spokeswoman said.

"Along with the other armed forces, the RAF tries to reflect the community from which it draws its members," she said. ..

3. Wonderful!!
An inclusive military is less likely to wrongly use deadly force. Gay and lesbian soldiers will do so much to bring true peace to the world.

7. That makes almost no sense.
And remember, this is coming from someone who seldom makes much sense either.

5. That was my response too.
It's a little hard to get my head around. Inclusion? Diversity? I thought those were just stories. LOL!

8. Alright!
Some of our NATO allies have had gays and lesbians serving openly in the military. It is only the retro countries, the US among them, that still treat their GLBTs as lower life forms.
