Nader hired conservative firm to help him gather ballot signatures
http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/news/archive/2004/08/24/politics1828EDT0702.DTL

Democrats criticized Ralph Nader on Tuesday for getting help from Republicans to gain access to state ballots in his independent presidential campaign.

Last month, Nader's campaign paid $75,000 to a well-known conservative political consulting firm that specializes in gathering signatures for ballot petitions.

California-based Arno Political Consultants has helped a long list of Republican clients, including the presidential campaigns of Ronald Reagan, former Sen. Bob Dole and the first President Bush. Its clients also include corporations and groups of the type Nader has battled in the past, including the Tobacco Institute, the National Rifle Association and the California Timber Association.

"Nader isn't reaching out to progressives to help identify possible Nader voters, he's reaching out to a company with expertise in finding Republicans and conservatives," said Democratic National Committee spokesman Jano Cabrera. "Republicans are interested in getting him on the ballot."

2. He's On The Ballot In Most of the Swing States
Not being on the ballot in states like California may be a deliberate strategy:
He can't expect to throw the really blue states to Bush*, and he
won't campaign in them. In 2000, he only showed up in California
to raise money, which he then spent campaigning against Gore in all
the swing states.

In 2000, the "Nader Traders" attempted to do an end run around Nader's
spoiler strategy, and Nader actually sued to try to stop them. If he
isn't on the ballot in California and the other deep blue states, there
is nothing to trade.

We can only hope that the stupid freepers who were sent out with Nader
petitions might actually get confused enough to vote for him
in November instead of Bush*.

4. It's pretty obvious
his one and only goal is to get Bush back in the WH. I think he wants to protect his tax cut. He's looking out for two things - his ego, and his own bottom line.

5. Yep, this is a damn smoking gun!
I believe more and more that Nader is not a well man, mentally or physically. Nader apologists are enabling some kind of sickness that threatens us all.

7. And in Virginia

Jerry Kilgore is allowing the Nadar petitions to be counted in eventually having Nadir placed on the ballot.

The rules WERE NOT followed properly. The signatures have to be by district, which they weren't. I don't know if Va State law explicitly states not following the rules = automatic disqualification

8. Nader has exposed himself as something I never thought he was
He has lost any and all credibility, and for my money, he might as well be a registered Republican.

I hope he develops a boil the size of a basketball between his testicles.

Rotten sonofabitch.

11. Have a link for that?
Do you support what he is doing?

I would believe he was a man of good conscience and a person with a true mission if he turned down all of the GOP aid and support. If he had done that, I would have had some respect for him.

So, who's falling for this same crap this time around?
