Bush Lauds 'No Child Left Behind' Law in Weekly Radio Address
VOA News

resident Bush has used the start of a new school year in the United States to praise what he says are the positive results of the No Child Left Behind law.

In his weekly radio address, Mr. Bush said the law sponsored by his administration and enacted two-and- a-half years ago had challenged what he called "the soft bigotry of low expectations in public education." ..

2. doesn't mention charter schools
doesn't mention that the NAEP report, in its first comparison of charter schools to public schools, found charter schools to be way behind the public schools.

Also doesn't mention that the Education Dept. hid those results, like a failing child hiding its report card.

4. Doesn't mention that he underfunded it
depriving 50,000 kids their access to after-school programs.

3. NCLB is the lead story in my community - getting bashed from all sides.
The teaachers and admin. hate it, the parents hate it, and the School Board hates it. Our high school district is likely to simply opt out.

5. That's our pResident. If it's a bush* program, and if it's a failure, he
has absolutely no problem with going out and lying in regard to what a success it is. No matter that there is overwhelming proof that it's a dud, he'll tell you differently.

NCLB, Medicare, Iraq, Afganistan, Homeland Security. You name it, he'll lie about it.

The rule of thumb is: If bush* says something is a success you can damn well bet it's a loser, or the funding is about to be cut. Without exception.

7. Kerry Press Release: Leave Every Fact Behind

"Today, George Bush once again showed that he won't let facts get in the way of his campaign. Thousands of schools are falling short of the law's targets because the President has fallen $27 billion short of his own promises to fund the initiative. If George Bush were getting graded for his implementation of No Child Left Behind, he'd get an 'F.' When John Kerry (news - web sites) is president, he will fulfill the promise of No Child Left Behind by making sure that there's a good teacher in every classroom and students get the help they need after school." .snip.

There is allot more...

And here in the great adopted home state of this MFer, we can't get all the kids vaccinated so they can't attend school. It's pathetic how this weasel actually defends and promotes programs he under funds.
