TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - A federal official said a top donor to Gov. James E. McGreevey is to plead guilty Wednesday in a case involving allegations that he had a prostitute seduce a government witness.

The plea by Charles Kushner is to be taken before U.S. District Judge Jose L. Linares in Newark, an aide to the judge said Tuesday. A federal official who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity said the hearing would be for a guilty plea.

Kushner, a real estate developer, was accused July 13 of hiring a prostitute to have sex with his own brother-in-law, who was a cooperating witness in an investigation into whether Kushner violated campaign contribution laws and committed tax fraud.

Prosecutors said Kushner ordered the sex act videotaped and a copy of the tape sent to his own sister, the witness' wife

4. Um sure.....
Didn't the New York Times run about 100 straight days of front page stories about Enron?

And Ken Lay didn't hire a prostitute to have sex with a witness in a trial against him for blackmail purposes.

5. Um, no...
Not that I can recall and I get the Times every day. Not that I think this guy is all right. He surely is not.

6. Put another way...
How many Enron stories were run in the New York Times that did not mention the fact that the upper management were all Bush donors?

I get the times, also, and I don't remember seeing any stories that didn't play up or at least mention the political angle.

This McGreevey story, on the other hand, has been almost totally a story about gayness, not about the corruption.

7. If you think this is what the McGreevy story has been all
about, read the Metro section of the Times or pick up a NJ newspaper. Kushner was on the front page A LOT. (Besides all the other troubles in the McGreevy administration.)

They should mention the political angle in regards to Enron-Bush flew all over the country in Kenny's plane, Kenny and his buds wrote our energy policy (not to mention putting their guy in to oversee FERC), etc. Most relevant. If this had been the case in the Clinton administration, Clinton would have been gone LONG ago.

8. Yes
That is true of the Times but on national network and cable news only the sexual part of the story has been emphasized.

And did I miss something or doesn't EVERYONE in the country know that Bush was buddy buddy with Enron? Unless there's actual malfesience at play here and it can be proven, there isn't much of a story.

And say what you want about the accounting at Enron. They were a damn good energy company while they lasted. Same is true of Halliburton.

10. Sure!
No disputing the scandal with the accounting. But there's a reason Enron was such a big story -- they were a hugely successful company!!

11. Sure they were, sure they were.
Enormously successful. Outrageously successful. Keep telling yourself that.

12. So You're Saying
that they weren't? Well weren't they one of the leading energy companies in the United States? Like I said before, if they were just some ragtag back office operation then why was it such a big deal when they went down?

The STORY was all about one of America's top companies going down in flames. If it was Arnold's 5&10 then no one would have cared.

13. No, that's not what I'm saying.
I think they were a house of cards. The first gust of wind blew them over. And a lot of unfortunate investors and employees got blown away, too. Not exactly cricket, know what I mean?

15. Duh. What I meant to say was:
Enron accounting: 2+2=5,000. I'm not really as dumb as I look (or sometimes write.)

14. The question is......
Why is Mcgreevey mentioned in the headline when I can not remember Bush being mentioned in any headline associated with Ken Lay and Enron.
Then again I do not think Lay was as good of a brother-in-law as this Kushner seems to be, think we can get a copy of the video tape??

3. "Honey Pot" sweet deals...enticement . The way the old CIA and MI-5
Operated in many "Cold War" spy novels....what goes around comes around..

The whole McGreevey thing just stinks of "Intelligence Angencies" but "mum's the word" in the US mainstream press.

To them McGreevey was a Homo...who had sex and he had Democratic backers who also had sex..and Clinton had sex and Democrats are filthy sexual perverts.

Forgeting of course the infamous pedophiles and perverts in the Repug Party in State Governments who've been caught and forced to resign in the last couple of years....UGH...It makes me feel sick what's going on out there and how the "Media" picks and chooses it's "victim of the month" to focus on. How many hours devoted to Scott/Laci Petersen/Kobe/Jackson....and yet will they wonder about an Israeli "tour director" who was "hitting on" a New Jersey Governor? Will they follow the "dots?" NO! :grr:
