Kerry Campaign: Hardball Host Calls on Bush to Stop Distorting Interview
U.S. Newswire

The Kerry-Edwards campaign reported that Monday night on Hardball, host Chris Matthews held the Bush campaign accountable for deceptive editing of his interview of John Kerry in January. In campaign speeches, the president has been using the clip to claim that Kerry called himself an anti-war candidate, when in fact, Kerry voiced his consistent position that it was right for the United States to hold Saddam Hussein accountable, but that George Bush has created greater problems for the country by doing it without involving allies to a sufficient degree and without first formulating a plan for post- Saddam Iraq.

Bush Campaign spokesman Matt Dowd refused to stop using the deceptive clip or even point out the error to the president, the Kerry Campaign said. ..

4. I think I know what you mean, Tweety can turn around quicker than the
batting of an eye. He may seem to be on the side of truth ... but truth has been somewhat elusive to tweety most of the times.

6. I'd like to see an ad titled "Cherry Pickers"
"Just like they cherry picked intelligence data - picking only the data that helped their rush to war and ignoring and hiding anyting that didn't the Bush/Cheney campaign is now cherry picking John Kerry's 20 year record in the senate with deceptive and deceitful ads..."

Maybe in the background showing a cherry picker only picking the spoiled cherries...

10. I don't know, at least he isn't full-time shilling for the Imperial Family
Which seems to distinguish him from ALL Prime-Time Cable Whores.

I am not saying I am jumping on the Tweety Bandwagon, but hell, even a LITTLE decency and counterbalance to the Imperial Lie Machine is welcome, whatever his motives are.

Kindly elaborate on your comment, "colonel"

11. well, "tom," i think he's pitiful for lots of reasons.
granted, he doesn't shill for the imperial family all the time. but it's a sad state of affairs when that's how we measure a talk show host's effectiveness.

but i digress.

i think he's pitiful because he's rude to female guests, because he's a blatant name dropper, a pathetic star f*cker, has an overblown sense of his own importance as a journalist, and he's boring. five years ago, i watched every night. now i bear to watch him.

my elaboration, "tom."

13. Not to mention Matthews voted for Bush in 2000 and is proud of it
He's got a long way to reform himself in my eyes. I do think it's ironic that as soon as I swear to not watch him he starts to act like a decent journalists for a good five minutes. Amazing!
