Presidential Hopeful Sharpton Sued by Travel Agency
Presidential hopeful Rev. Al Sharpton is being sued by a travel agency that claims he and his civil rights group owe more than $193,000 in airfare and hotel charges, according to documents made public on Wednesday.

Alpha International Travel, Inc., a Delaware-based agency, is suing Sharpton and his Harlem-based National Action Network alleging fraud and breach of contract, according to documents filed in New York Supreme Court in Manhattan.

The agency said Sharpton, who is seeking the Democratic nomination for the presidency, and the network used its services between May 2001 and August 2002 but did not pay, despite the agency's repeated demands.

The suit also claims Sharpton provided "fraudulent credit card information regarding American Express," but did not offer any details.

Sharpton's attorney, Sanford Rubenstein, says his client was outraged and has asked him to request a meeting with Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau "with a view toward filing a criminal complaint against Alpha ... for attempting to use Sharpton's credit card improperly."

I think Sharpton has brought a lot of energy to the campaign, and I'd be sorry to see him leave the campaign before he's ready to leave...but the future of his campaign could rest on how he deals with this issue.

4. Well....
You know what I mean. I don't have anything against Sharpton or his supporters, so I'm being diplomatic.

7. Hey, I love his "campaign,"
"Keep those zingers comin', Sharpton. Bush deserves them!! Stay in as long as you can, for the good of the Democratic Party, which sometimes has weak knees."

8. "the future of his campaign" ?
I'm sorry. The guy has always been a crook
and the sooner his campaign ends the better for the
Democratic party.

The more face time he gets on TV the more suburban
swing voters become alienated. The latest ARG poll
shows that likely Dem primary voters in New Hamphire
have a negative opinion of him by about a 6 to 1 margin.

If this ends his campaign it will be good for the party
but it probably won't. He'll just claim the travel agency is
racist.

9. "He'll just claim the travel agency is racist.".....tough claim....
New York, NY — Alpha International Travel, a minority-owned, full-service travel agency, has been in business since 1992. The company, based in New York City, serves clients all over the country and has overseas customers as well.

"There was a need and we filled it. Corporate and individual travelers were not getting the service and prices that they deserve," said Colin Hall, President of Alpha International Travel. This was especially true for minority travelers."

I agree with you though, he is a crook and would try to make the claim if possible.
