Cheney in S.C. for second fund-raiser in a month ($1k per plate)
GREER, South Carolina (AP)

Vice President Dick Cheney on Monday made his second visit to South Carolina in a month for another high-dollar fund-raiser.

Cheney was attending a $1,000-per-plate luncheon at the home of state House Speaker Pro Tem Doug Smith, R- Spartanburg. ..

DeMint needed the campaign cash after virtually emptying his war chest in a tough primary two months ago. ..

Smith said he expected a good political speech from the vice president but reporters were not allowed in to cover the event.

4. They sure have!
I remember a time when Cheney did do appearances for less than $2K a plate. Must be tough times on the GOP rubber chicken circuit these days.

7. ugh I lived in SC, Greenville home of Bob Jones
Univ.
I hated it.
Just just gross there with all their Civil War re-enactments and Cotillion Balls where the girls wear big hoop dresses.
I would only ever live there again if it was on the coast- their beaches are nice.
my 2 cents
Kathryn

8. There was a counter-Cheney cookout protest here, too
While Cheney was at his $1,000 a plate grits lunch, The Sierra Club, Carolina Peace Resource Center, and the Progressive Network sponsored a cookout. There were volunteers dressed as oil barrels serving up "Halliburton Hot Dogs."

I wish I could have gone, but it was helf for only an hour and I had to deliver work then.
