WP: Bush Blames Attack on 'Enemies of the Civilized World'
-snips-

Mr. Bush, vacationing at his ranch in Crawford, Texas, learned of the bombing while at a golf course and later received two updates from his national security adviser, Condoleezza Rice. As the scope of the bombing became clear, the president cut short his golf game to return to the ranch for a full briefing.

Of late, however, Mr. Bush and his spokesmen have sought to retreat slightly from what now appears to have been an overly optimistic assessment on May 1, when the president declared that "major combat operations in Iraq have ended."

In an interview with the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service that was recorded on Thursday and made public on Monday, Mr. Bush emphasized that May 1 had marked not the end of combat but rather of "major military operations."

Today he said: "The terrorists are testing our will. Across the world they're finding that our will cannot be shaken. We will persevere through every hardship. We will continue this war on terror until the killers are brought to justice."

1. Apparently not dire enough to cut his vacation short.....
Total Bullshit.....Bush loves bombs....makes his job so much easier when he can be fighting terrorists on the golf course, rather than having to deal with stuff like the economy, blackouts, the environment, etc.

2. Easy to say on a golf course
Maybe he should travel over there and do a few patrols with our boys. I bet an incoming RPG would shake his will a little.

3. Remember, it was the "civilized world" that invaded Iraq and is now
in charge of the turmoil there.

6. He does so love these vague, undefinable enemies...

The evildoers, the haters of freedom, enemies of the civilized world.

Conjuring vaguely supernatural enemies out of thin air must be SO much easier than thinking.

there. In the civilized world, is not war the last, rather than the first, resort?

12. "We will fight on land, sea, air and with our banks.
And you can be certain that we will -- as sure as there is a Cloud Being known as Jebus in the friendly skies above the Amurican continent -- we will bring Glory upon the Homeland. Homeland, Homeland, Uber Alles !"

said pResident* George AWOL Bush, while fishing about for a string of vapid but catchy phrases to plagiarize.

* Clearly rejected by a majority of patriotic and discerning American voters in the 2000 election; appointed to office by the so-called supreme court.

13. Now why would Bush implicate HIMSELF?! Okay fellow tin foilers...
Bush is the greatest known enemy of the civilized world so I'm going to suggest that Bushco was responsible. Suicide bombers can be bought if their families are beneficiaries of a payoff. I'm wondering if the prison bombing the other day (in which the eyewitness Reuters cameraman was killed by U.S. troops) was just setting up the UN bombing. We all know how fuzzy and warm the UN/Bushco relationship is. I can't think of anyone who would benefit more than the Bushco from this hit on the UN.

17. Why don't you just sue them, Lil George?
Oh wait, under tort reform, you wouldn't collect anything for pain and suffering! Not, of course, that you've endured any pain or suffering, unless you want to count the pain and suffering of having to cut your round of golf short just because a couple dozen people bought it in the hell-hole you created.

For the record, I don't count that as pain or suffering.

Okay, so we've had 70 million people blacked out, a whole bunch of folks who've had their "careers ended" in a manner similar to Udai and Qusay, and still Mr. Bush doesn't see any reason to interrupt his vacation. What would it take to get him off the ranch in Crawford? Besides million dollar fundraisers, that is.

Should guard some checkpoints or go on some house to house patrols in the Iraqi heat. He has been on vacation more than any president I can remember. Does the guy EVER show up for work? Can you imagine him as a W2 employee?

20. WWW chimp
To all people of Iraq: unlike real combat, after we are done with our invasion and slaughter, you're supposed to stop fighting back. Lay down and don't get up. Oh by the way, sorry we killed, maimed and crippled thousands of your family members, ruined your businesses and your country. Get over it.

Isn't that how war works on TV?

26. I thought democracy was the rule of law in Iraq in the near future
Wait a minute! Did not the President of the United States say that all conflicts have stopped in Iraq? That the world had now been free of conflicts in Iraq and the world and that the war in Iraq was over because the Iraqi people want Bush's vision of democracy.
