Bush's Heart-Throb Nephew Weds Lawyer
KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine (Reuters) - George Prescott Bush, President Bush's nephew and a heart-throb of the 2000 presidential race, married fellow lawyer Amanda Williams on the pristine southern Maine coast on Saturday.

The two met while in law school at the University of Texas at Austin and graduated last year. They were married at St. Ann's Episcopal Church.

Three generations of Bushes swooped in and dominated this small seaside town during the festivities, including former President George Bush and at least three of his sons, Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, the father of the groom; the current president and Marvin Bush.

The street leading up to the expansive Bush compound was blocked off while onlookers and a few protesters gathered. Some in town wore T-shirts that said "Kerrybunkport," playing on town's name and the president's Democratic challenger for the White House, Sen. John Kerry who is from nearby Massachusetts.
...
Amanda Williams is an associate in the Fort Worth, Texas office of the law firm Jackson Walker LLP, focusing on general commercial and labor litigation.

Traditional Labor Relations

Jackson Walker's labor and employment law attorneys also provide substantial experience and expertise in management's dealings with labor unions. Their expertise encompasses such areas as those listed below.

• Union avoidance campaigns
• Union election contests
• Negotiation of collective bargaining agreements
• Arbitration of disputes arising under collective bargaining agreements
• Responding to unfair labor practice charges under the National Labor Relations Act, the Railway Labor Act, and related statutes

Yeah, she'll fit in well with the Bushistas.

10. SIGH. You know, as a paralegal,
seeing this kind of thing, and seeing lawyers use their knowledge and skills in such a manner, really makes me sick and furious.

It makes me desperately wish I had a law degree, because I sure as hell would use it to actually help people who badly need it. Just as there are those who badly need medical care they can't afford to get, there are far too many people desperately needing legal help that they can't afford to get. Legal Aid and other legal assistance groups can only do so much with the little they have and even what little they have now is being cut further.

37. Akin, Gump keeps some very strange company
Besides being full of Bush cronies, it seems to be the preferred lawfirm for Saudi supporters of terrorism:

The White House connection: Saudi 'agents' close Bush friends
by Maggie Mulvihill, Jonathan Wells and Jack Meyers
Tuesday, December 11, 2001

Akin, Gump, which maintains an affiliate office in the Saudi capital of Riyadh, is also a registered foreign agent for the kingdom. It was paid $77,328 in lobbying fees by the Saudis during the first six months of 2000, public records show.

In addition to the royal family, the firm's Saudi clients have included bin Mahfouz, who hired Akin, Gump when he was indicted in the BCCI banking scandal in the early 1990s. In 1999, the Saudi's placed bin Mahfouz under house arrest after reportedly discovering that the bank he controlled, National Commercial Bank in Saudi Arabia, funneled millions to charities believed to be serving as bin Laden fronts.

A bin Mahfouz business partner, Al-Amoudi, was also represented by Akin, Gump. When it was reported in 1999 that U.S. authorities were also investigating Al-Amoudi's Capitol Trust Bank, Akin, Gump released a statement on behalf of their client denying any connections to terrorism. One year earlier, the firm had co-sponsored an investment conference in Ethiopia with Al-Amoudi.

Akin, Gump partner and Bush fund-raiser Salem led the legal team that defended Idris, a banking protege of bin Mahfouz and the owner of El-Shifa, the Sudanese pharmaceutical plant destroyed by U.S. cruise missiles in August 1998.

9. Actually, in contrast to most of the rest
of his family, the nephew is, indeed, quite handsome. In fact, (and please forgive me in advance for this) he kinda reminds me a little of Barak Obama. Too bad he doesn't have Obama's intelligence, wit, compassion, and concern for ALL Americans, not just the wealthiest ones.

8. Bush Sr. quote from the article
"...George Prescott Bush, who was named after his great-grandfather, was one of the stars at Bush's nominating convention in 2000 because in part of his good looks.

Considered an extremely eligible bachelor at the time, he wooed young and Hispanic voters with frequent references to his Latin heritage. His mother, Columba, was born in Mexico. His grandfather, former President Bush, once referred to him and his siblings as "little brown ones..." :eyes:

11. George P - police report from 1994 (the smoking gun)
Another typical bush family values type

http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/georgep1.html

"1) George P. Bush might be a hunkalicious young Republican, but he still seems a bit creepy. So TSG wasn't too surprised to learn that "P" was involved in a troubling 1994 incident described in this Metro-Dade Police Department report. On December 31, 1994, Bush showed up at 4 AM at the Miami home of a former girlfriend. He proceeded to break into the house via the woman's bedroom window, and then began arguing with his ex's father. Bush, then a Rice University student, soon fled the scene. But he returned 20 minutes later to drive his Ford Explorer across the home's front lawn, leaving wide swaths of burned grass in his wake. Young Bush avoided arrest when the victims declined to press charges. (3 pages)"

... their marriage. Would it be more like the mating ritual of bottom-feeding sharks, common cockroaches, or preying mantis's? Or are they so unevolved as to copulate like starfish? (I assure you that the manner in which these species mate isn't pretty.)

And in case you missed it, George P Bush was

And for those up the back, George P Bush was
