Bush to follow Kerry's N.M. visit
The Albuquerque Tribune

President Bush will be hitting New Mexico just days after Democrats John Kerry and John Edwards leave town.

Bush's campaign announced Friday that the president would be hosting "A Conversation With the President" on Wednesday in Albuquerque.

The trip will come just days after Kerry and Edwards take their train out of New Mexico. The Democrats are set to arrive in Albuquerque late tonight, and plan to spend part of Sunday here before chugging off to Gallup for more events. ..

.. "We hope President Bush is having fun playing his taxpayer-financed game of tag," said New Mexico Democratic Party Chairman John Wertheim. ..

1. Incompetent Liars
I love the part of this report where the GOP guy insists that Bush's trip to New Mexico was planned weeks ago.

These guys aren't even competent liars anymore.

3. Terrorists biggest weapon is the war on nerves that they like to wage
It seems that George boy likes to do the same--only he gets to have his war on nerves called "game of tag".:puke:

4. I have counted 3 tagged states so far.
Iowa, Oregon, and now New Mexico. Are there any others that I have overlooked? Is this the start of a trend?

17. Absolutely!!
But I'll bet that more than a few folks from the Kerry campaign inner circles visit here and just might see it themselves.

12. GREAT slogan!
Bush has been using the strategy to follow Kerry in order to steal his thunder. If Kerry starts saying that Bush is playing "Follow the leader," Bush will quickly stop.

7. This is good.. It allows the Media to analyze the difference in attendence
between the two. Kerry draws them in by the tens of thousands and doesn't demand loyalty oaths. Bush* only allows those that already support him and the numbers are just not that great. Bush* may get three thousand to show up, maybe... Kerry draws crowds seven or eight times larger. Will the Media notice?.........Ya Right...

8. Kerry's doing rural NM
Places like Gallup and Las Vegas NM. Last time a presidential candidate visited Las Vegas was Truman in 1948.

I'm going tonight to Las Vegas. The guy here in Santa Fe told me they'd handed out over 1500 tickets from here alone, and it's an hour plus drive from here, 2 hours from Albuquerque.

(Of course, everywhere's pretty much an hour plus from everywhere else here in NM. :)

How does that improve his chances to win?

11. The media does his work for him. Everything is a photo-op.
He doesn't allow anyone that might ruin the media story. The croud could be puppets and it wouldn't matter. In my travels as a news hould, I've discovered that 99% of local TV and newspapers are republican bent. Nearly all of John's coverage is from AP, Reuters, or AFP. Dimson gets amazing local coverage nation wide. Oregon protesters have learned to be disruptive enough to make it impossible for the local stations not to show them. If a few people go to jail for blocking a bridge or main street, it is worth it to ruin the "photo op". I have overheard protest organizers discussing arrests with congenial riot officers, making as harmless as possible for both parties but rowdy enough to draw the cameras. Life is a stage.

20. It's a Photo Op for the Fawning Media to Put on TV
He isn't expecting to win this election,
he intends to steal it,
but he still has to go through the motions,
and they have to show us SOME Bush* supporters
so that maybe we will believe it when the
machinez tell us that Bush* "won" on Nov 3.

18. this is why Kerry and Edwards should campaign seperately...
Kerry may be followed by Bush, but Edwards could be sent to campaign in states that the Bush campaign is not covering.

The only option left for the freepers would be to send Cheney after Edwards...

But why are the President and Vice President not doing their jobs?

22. Find out when/where this is on Sunday
Edited on Sat Aug-07-04 02:40 PM by Snoggera
Sunday in Gallup at the 82nd Annual Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial.

That's where they'll be

edit: I searched the world over, and this is the best I could come up with.

Pulido said the stops in Las Vegas (population about 15,000) and Gallup (about 20,000 people) will be open to the public, although details of those events are still being worked out.

Kerry and Edwards both want to see the Gallup Inter-Tribal Ceremonial, the famous four-day Native American pageant that wraps up at Red Rock State park outside Gallup on Sunday night.

The Inter-Tribal, in its 83rd year, brings dances, arts, rodeo and lots of Indian tacos and fry bread to Gallup along with thousands of tourists from around the world.

Depending on when the Kerry-Edwards Express gets into Gallup, the candidates will be able to catch the last of the dances or the All- Indian Rodeo finals.

24. A conversation with the President?
Those who attend are advised to bring lots of pictures and speak in words of two syllables or less, otherwise, Bush will have a rough time carrying a conversation with you.

25. I Think This is Great
Just watched C-SPAN rerun Kerry at the Unity Journalist thing, followed immediately by Bush at the same event on Friday. My Gawd the contrast was striking!!

If the Dems had enough money they could show these two events on a split screen. One side you have a very intelligent, thoughtful, well-prepared and dynamic leader. On the other a drunk slobbering fool talking to people like their hard of hearing. * talks to everyone like they are a 4 year old "see". Jeesh this appearance alone should tank him to 30%. Contrast it with Kerry and you have the makings of a landslide.
