Letourneau now allowed to see former student

A judge agreed yesterday to lift a court order forbidding former teacher Mary K. Letourneau from seeing Vili Fualaau, the former student she was convicted of raping.

King County prosecutors did not object to allowing the two to see each other and saw no further legal basis to keep the order in place. Letourneau and Fualaau have two children together.

"We have taken into consideration the wishes of the victim, who is now an adult," spokesman Dan Donohoe said.

The Department of Corrections, which must monitor Letourneau for the next three years, also did not object to Superior Court Judge Linda Lau's lifting of the no-contact order, which she imposed after Letourneau pleaded guilty to two counts of child rape in 1997.

If this was a MALE teacher having an affair with a FEMALE student what do you think the response would be ?????

Now she has her own web site and is trying to prove to the world the justification for her actions.

I think the results speak for themselves. The fact that this kid at 21 years old is strapped with the responsibility of raising 2 children, does not even have a GED and is pursuing a woman twice his age instead of 18 year old hard bellies (as is normal for his age) is proof enough this woman has had a detrimental effect of his life.

I agree, this case is fucked up, but the order wasn't overturned because SHE wanted it overturned, and wouldn't have been overturned had SHE requested contact.
