Saddam Hussein's vice president captured
story looks to have broke 6 or so hours ago. this came in 9 minutes ago

(Baghdad, Iraq-AP) -- A northern Iraqi city yielded a key arrest today.

Former Iraqi vice president Taha Yassin Ramadan was captured by Kurdish forces in Mosul (MOH'-sul) and turned over to U-S forces.

A Kurdish source says Ramadan was disguised in traditional Arab peasant clothes when he was caught. The Kurds say he was -- quote -- "hiding among his relatives or colleagues."

Saddam's Vice President Caught in Iraq, U.S. Says
Tue August 19, 2003 08:04 AM ET
By Huda Majeed Saleh

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Taha Yassin Ramadan, former vice president of Iraq and one of Saddam Hussein's closest allies, was in U.S. custody on Tuesday after being captured by Kurdish fighters and handed over to American troops.

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan said it had tracked down Ramadan in Mosul -- the same city Saddam's feared sons Uday and Qusay were hiding in when U.S. troops killed them last month.

The PUK is one of two Kurdish groups in northern Iraq whose forces fought alongside American soldiers in the war to topple Saddam.

The Pentagon confirmed that Ramadan, number 20 on a U.S. list of the 55 most-wanted Iraqis, had been captured. Washington says 38 of the people on the list have now been captured or killed. But Saddam himself remains on the run.

the pentagon gets caught in so many lies. hell! why can't we make it up too. It's all the explosions. The oil pipeline, water pipeline, UN in Bagdad, now the bus explosion in Jerusalem. Probably I should find a diversion for the next several hours. the news is starting to wig me out today.

7. Was it Tariq? I thought it was this gentleman:
Osama. But what's the difference, they're all from the same family aren't they?

Where is Tariq, and why aren't they saying what he's said? Oh, I see. You mean they will, just as soon as the next Big Thing happens, and the folks need a little diversion. Okay, I see now.

13. dubya's remarks
I don't know the facts of where he was, what was going on. I'm really pleased that we've captured the vice president," Bush told reporters earlier. "Slowly but surely we'll find who we need to find. It's just a matter of time."

from yahoo news....

ya know...for a minute I thought he was talking about Cheney.........
