WSJ's conservative editorial-page chieftains find new home on PBS
Having lost their spot on CNBC in early 2003, the Wall Street Journal's conservative editorial-page chieftains have found a new home for their public affairs roundtable on PBS.

Panel discussion will be hosted by WSJ editorial page topper Paul Gigot, formerly a correspondent on PBS' "The NewsHour With Jim Lehrer." Gigot is known for his right-leaning views but is not strident in his style.

In recent weeks, PBS has come under criticism for turning to the right in its programming, starting with its decision to give conservative CNN commentator Tucker Carlson a new show.

Within a few years the entire PBS lineup will be right wing. Just another long planned move by the right to take over every form of media.

of all the companies BushCo twisted arms making sure they installed a conservative head.

8. Mr Kerry, make this a high priority, please, would ya?
Every day that they put forth their wealth-centered right wing ideology is another youth being brainwashed, being sucked in to vote against their own interests.

Make this a fast and easy January housecleaning.

3. Bushbots don't watch PBS. They bearly understand FOX.
This is obviously a loss-leader political bribe to keep the Republicans from pulling the plug. Unfortunately, PBS viewers are overwhelming liberal and they'll end up losing in subscriber contributions any gain they hope to make in government support.

9. actually, I don't think that's true.
I recently read that viewers are about 1/3 each. But some people are starting to call PBS "liberal media". It may be an effort by the right wing to coopt PBS--hey, it worked with the networks (while taking over ownership and editorial control).

I'll try to find it if anyone is interested.

4. When Paul Gigot was appointed editorial page editor, WSJ printed
my reminder to Paul that Ike once said, in effect, the only usable part of the road is the middle, that when you get off to the left or the right, you are in the gutter, so I implored him to stay out of the gutter. WSJ captioned my tidbit "Out of the gutter, Gigot." Needless to say, my admonition was futile as expected.

6. When will they change their letters
from "PBS" to "PBF" - "Public Broadcast ala Fox"?

7. Most shows I see on there are corporate sponsored...
not that it's a bad thing per se, because they do desperately need money, but PBS has been sucking wind these past few years and this right wing tilt is an obvious effect of having ADM et al sponsor your journalism
