Egypt Denies Telling U.S. of Iraqi WMD
CAIRO, Egypt - Egypt on Monday denied remarks by retired U.S. General Tommy Franks that President Hosni Mubarak told him that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction.

"Such a claim is void of truth," Egyptian presidential spokesman Magad Abdel Fattah told the official Middle East News Agency.

In an interview with the U.S. Parade magazine to promote his book, "American Soldier," to be released this week, Franks recalled that both Mubarak and Jordan's King Abdullah told him two months before the Iraq war that Saddam had chemical and biological weapons.

In Jordan, a Royal Palace official who refused to be identified said: "His Majesty did not have information that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction."

In its Sunday edition, Parade quoted Franks — who led the U.S.-led war against Iraq — as saying that Mubarak told him Saddam would use the weapons against American troops in case of war.

10. Just Like
Hitler had his generals that lied along with him, why should Bush be any different.

We already know that Franks believes that with one more attack, so goes the freedom of the American people.

Franks is like Wilhelm Keitel, who was completely loyal to Hitler, Franks it seems is completely loyal to Bush, not to his country but to a man.

I have said it before and I will continue to say it, the flag officers currently in command, and those that hold positions in the Pentagon are Bush's Generals. They no longer are loyal to the US or to the US Constitution, their loyalty belongs to Mammon, they are bought and paid for.

I can actually see Franks as the one who would be picked to be in charge of internment camps should they become a reality.

8. Crap. It was White, Franks was with Enron for just a couple of years.
Franks was an Enron executive for just a couple of years.

Franks' ties to Enron was scrubbed from the government's web site biography after Enron imploded.

9. On the other hand, there's that other Middle Eastern leader.

Wonder if Franks had anything to say about this other source of misinformation about WMD?

The Spies Who Pushed For War

<snip>

The OSP was an open and largely unfiltered conduit to the White House not only for the Iraqi opposition. It also forged close ties to a parallel, ad hoc intelligence operation inside Ariel Sharon's office in Israel specifically to bypass Mossad and provide the Bush administration with more alarmist reports on Saddam's Iraq than Mossad was prepared to authorise.

"None of the Israelis who came were cleared into the Pentagon through normal channels," said one source familiar with the visits. Instead, they were waved in on Mr Feith's authority without having to fill in the usual forms.

The exchange of information continued a long-standing relationship Mr Feith and other Washington neo-conservatives had with Israel's Likud party.

<snip>

The Israeli influence was revealed most clearly by a story floated by unnamed senior US officials in the American press, suggesting the reason that no banned weapons had been found in Iraq was that they had been smuggled into Syria. Intelligence sources say that the story came from the office of the Israeli prime minister.
