Governor Dean Responds to President Bush’s Economic Report
Governor Dean Responds to President Bush’s Economic Report
WATERLOO, IA—Dean issued the following statement regarding President Bush’s economic statements today:

“President Bush may be calling his advisors to an economic summit today, but three years of his reckless fiscal leadership have led the country into an economic valley.

“Why is the President talking to advisors on his ranch, rather than ordinary Americans in their living rooms, diners and union halls? Off the ranch, he'd get an earful from parents working two jobs to make ends meet--if they're lucky enough to still have jobs. He'd have to answer to the three million newly unemployed and the millions more who've had to take new jobs earning less than they did before. He'd have to listen to the concerns of parents worried about putting their kids through school, affording health care for their families, of having enough in savings to support their retirement.

“Down in the valley of America's economy today, people are suffering--and an economic policy of tax cuts aimed at those who don't need it and trillions in debt for our children to pay off offers little hope to working Americans and no solution to our long-term problems.

“Only by investing in programs to create jobs, providing health care to all Americans and putting our economic house in order can we truly lead the country back to the summit.”

It looks like Dean is breaking away from the pack of contenders. This man is taking the bull by the horns. Truer words have NEVER been spoken.

4. I really like how Dean issues
statements pronto. Something happens or the Simian stumbles out to repeat the mantras Rove has been chanting to him for a couple of days and Dean is right there. I think it is one of the reasons his campaign is so successful. Right away we know exactly how Dean feels about whatever's happening/being said.

Cool.

6. I like it, BUT
Will I see Dean's statement on CNN or CBS or any of the others? Until that starts happening, his statements, like Al Gore's excellent speeches, might as well not exist.

I'm certainly not advocating that Dean do nothing. Or that Gore or anyone else stop speaking out. But, man, am I pessimistic!

7. Oh Howard
You silly guy! Bush sit with the common man! That's a good one! Hell, I'll be president before that happens.

At least with Dean I know he'd go to "their living rooms, diners and union halls" to hear their economic woes. Bush just looks at his own pocketbook and has no worry about the little people.

Punk ass bitch.

9. Yes this is quite interesting. The common man is left out again!
I do believe that only the top 1% is of concern to him.

A Class War may be in the mist.
