5 Kurdish rebels dead in fight

Istanbul - Five Kurdish rebels were killed in a shootout with Turkish troops in eastern Turkey, an official said on Monday.

The clash between the rebels and Turkish troops broke out late on Sunday during a routine patrol in the predominantly Kurdish province of Tunceli, according to an official from the governor's office.
