Rice: Bush Consistent on Iraq-Al Qaeda Links (NPR)
<June 18, 2004 -- The Bush administration has been consistent in explaining the connection between al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein's regime, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice says. The Sept. 11 commission said it found "no credible evidence" that Iraq was involved in the 2001 terrorist attacks against America.

Rice tells NPR's Juan Williams in an interview: "We've always said that we do not assign operational control of al Qaeda to Iraq. That we do not have any evidence that Saddam Hussein had anything to do with 9/11. But you just have to look at repeated contacts between Iraq and al Qaeda over more than a decade.">

4. Sheesh....
"But you just have to look at repeated contacts between Iraq and al Qaeda over more than a decade."

I don't dispute that Iraq and al Qaeda have met a few times. I dispute the fact that this constitutes a relationship. I mean, there are women who I've dated a few times, and those experiences only underscored the fact that we have no relationship whatsoever. Believe me.

"relationship" means all kinds of things-matters of degree-good/bad-etc.

The wishywashy sqabbling over words undercuts their STRONG LEADERSHIP image (they believe it anyway) and isn't going to sit too well with Joe Six Pack -IMHO.

14. Condi and *relationship* issues....
yes, it's clear that Condi has a *relationship* going with Bush. She even said that he's her husb... er, something.

"Links" "relationship" "contacts"

Call it what it is: guilt by associateion. And damn little association at that.

truck through our neighborhood on trash day. That doesn't mean I have "longstanding ties" with him. Prattle on, contradicta. Prattle on. Every time she opens her mouth... (sound of hand smacking forehead)

But there you have it. Imperial Amerika, a weak and slavish nation (but VERY TOUGH on the defenseless, very tough indeed on the poor and weak)

We know they had.. uhh.. many contacts.. uhh.. and.. uhh.. The world is better off without Saddam in power and uhh.. now that al-qida is on the run

To this criminal bunch in the white house, they believe a lie is damage control. And then they point out how the liar has been consistent in repeating the lie.

16. Bush Administration "Linked" with Taliban
There were repeated contacts between the administration and the Taliban pre-9/11. By their own logic, that means that they are "linked."

Bush's Faustian Deal With the Taliban
By Robert Scheer
Published May 22, 2001 in the Los Angeles Times

excerpt:

That's the message sent with the recent gift of $43 million to the Taliban rulers of Afghanistan, the most virulent anti-American violators of human rights in the world today. The gift, announced last Thursday by Secretary of State Colin Powell, in addition to other recent aid, makes the U.S. the main sponsor of the Taliban and rewards that "rogue regime" for declaring that opium growing is against the will of God. So, too, by the Taliban's estimation, are most human activities, but it's the ban on drugs that catches this administration's attention.

Never mind that Osama bin Laden still operates the leading anti-American terror operation from his base in Afghanistan, from which, among other crimes, he launched two bloody attacks on American embassies in Africa in 1998.

Sadly, the Bush administration is cozying up to the Taliban regime at a time when the United Nations, at U.S. insistence, imposes sanctions on Afghanistan because the Kabul government will not turn over Bin Laden.

18. OMG--I just cannot believe this evil crew
there is no other word for these despicable people but "evil"

OUR PRESIDENT IS EVIL

The paper went out--one by one, each little robot and toady will appear and repeat the spin , day after day. Tommorrow it may be Powell--he usually follows the whore. And off they go-- Hey, it might even be the slovenly dressed Jenna, or the upholstered draped joker smiling, rictus face, Laura.

and NO ONE challenges it.

You know, we can expect there are evil liars in the world and that they may steal an election, but when NO ONE challenges a goddam thing they say, including our opposition candidate we here in the US have a DUTY to complain about it to them and demand they defend us from these lies.

We PAY their salary. They WORK for us. I demand that Kerry stand up for me and for freedom and against these egregious lies spouted day after day by Bush, Cheney, Rice, Powell and the rest of the filthy crew.

but that's just for manipulation for the BIG LIE effect. God could tell him there wasn't any connection, and he wouldn't listen, because Bush's God is in his head, his own delusion.
