ELF Officially Claims Responsibility for Blaze

The Earth Liberation Front has made another claim that it set fire to a West Jordan lumberyard earlier this week. KSL received an email from the ELF Press Office, which publicizes actions of the organization.

We initially contacted the ELF Press Office about the fire two days ago. This morning we received this email that links the fire at the lumberyard to the organization. The FBI says it could be just another piece of evidence in the case.

Bob Wright, FBI Special Agent: "There is no reason to believe that these communiques that have been received by the news media are not red herrings or a smoke screen, or done by someone wanting to claim responsibility for someone else's actions.".

It came from the ELF Press Office. Its mission, it says, is to publicize news and actions of the organization. The details of the email were posted this morning on the ELF web site under the headline: 'ELF Torches Lumberyard in West Jordan -- 1.5 million dollars in Damage."

3. Are These People All Right?

I hate to break it to these people but, the only thing their actions will get them is prison time. It's one thing to champion a worthy cause such as the environment, but quite another to commit crimes to achieve their objectives. The ends do not justify the means.

I can see their point of view on Hummer Dealerships and Genetically Modified Crops, but lumber has been used for hundreds of years.
