DNC leader slams Bush 'deception' - McAuliffe says Bush is corrupt
http://www.democratandchronicle.com/news/06170R4KBDN_news.shtml

(June 17, 2004) — The chairman of the Democratic National Committee rallied supporters of presidential candidate John Kerry on Wednesday in Rochester, saying that President Bush is corrupt and deceived America.

”The pattern of deception by this president and vice president and his administration is breathtaking,” said Terry McAuliffe, who has been campaigning on Kerry’s behalf.

Despite criticism that Kerry hasn’t capitalized on Bush’s missteps in Iraq and in domestic policy, McAuliffe defended Kerry’s strategy — pointing out that Kerry remains 5 to 8 percentage points ahead in most national polls and will build momentum as the election approaches. snip

McAuliffe’s visit came just hours after a statewide poll showed Bush’s approval rating has sunk to its lowest level ever in New York and that Kerry’s lead in the state has grown.

5. How disrespectful! And what about Clinton?
The Republicans will say. They'll repeat their canard that Clinton's was the most corrupt administration in our history and will continue to portray Little George as a towering figure of moral purity and courage.

We have to hope that finally the press will be impartial in the argument.

7. Hmmm..I've never heard anything of the sort about the Clinton adminst...
The republicans can hardly claim the high moral ground anymore.
The stink sticking to their shoes precedes them everywhere they go.

19. I've heard the corruption charge against Clinton frequently.
It's one of those things they just keep repeating, no matter what facts are quoted in response.

6. Machiavelli's advice for despots
and dictators (quotes from The Prince)

"Since love and fear can hardly exist together, if we must choose between, it is far safer to be feared than loved"

Who has been spreading fear in this country and around the world ?

Energy price gouging on West Coast. CA, OR, WA, etc.

Medicare Heist. Billion of Medicare $$$ to Bush campaign-contributor pharmacutical companies.

Halliburton Hijinks. $18 billion in Iraq contracts for Halliburton, with many of those no-bid, cost-plus giveways. In return, Halliburton is accused of defrauding the US government.

Trillions in tax cuts for the super-rich, and a few crumbs for the vast majority of Americans.

10. NOW you're talking....
I was holding off sending in a contribution to the DNC because I was going to concentrate on individual candidates. Now I'll do both -- but I'm sending in a copy of this article and indicating that this is why I'm contributing now.

Nice to see McAuliffe rear up on his hind legs and look like he's fighting for the party and its nominee. I hope this is a start, and not an aberration.

Check out the lame formula remark by the Republican mouthpiece:

”The president has shown strong leadership on the issues that matter most to people,” said Heather Layman, spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee.

Did it hit all the talking points? "The president", check. "Strong leadership", check. "Most Americans", che--oops, "most people"? Heather better have her resume up to date.

16. It's about time McAuliffe rose up and spoke the Truth....
We've been waiting for McAuliffe to do his job.
Where has he been for the last four years?

Doesn't he realize his silence has hurt the *supposed* DNC
contribution campaign.

People hold back their pennies, when they don't see the democratic party leadership producing results!
