MP Gallant compares abortion to Iraq beheading (Canada)
Conservative MP Cheryl Gallant is getting herself into hot water again, this time drawing a parallel between abortion and the beheading of an American man working in Iraq.

The Western Catholic Reporter, in an article on an anti-abortion rally on Parliament Hill last month, quotes Gallant as saying the world was horrified at the murder of American contractor Nicholas Berg. He was beheaded by terrorists, and video of the incident was posted on an al-Qaeda affiliated website.

"She compared the killing to the abortions performed in Canada over 35 years and said it is 'absolutely no different'," the article said.

Stephen Harper responded immediately from Calgary, but refused to condemn his MP's remarks.

1. Good! In the next 3 weeks, more of the Alliance (faux Conservative)...
extremist agenda will come out, it always does. It did with Manning, sea-doo guy (forgotten his name already, lol) and now with Harper.

3. Forgive my ignorance, what does
MP stand for? I thought it meant prime minister which would be PM.. yikes! Really, I'm NOT a conservative lol

I'm sad to learn that the conservatives in Canada get as much air time as they seem to. But, like you said, give conservatives EVERYWHERE, enough rope and they will eventually hang themselves.

4. MP means Member of Parliament, an elected member in our
House of Parliament, PM is the Prime Minister who is also an elected MP. In this case, it is an elected member not the Prime Minister making this statement.

2. Very much like Bushco
You pretty much just have to sit back and wait for them to make idiotic comments. They'll never let you down with their stupidity.

7. Can't really make this argument in Canada, but if they want to
push this, then the US death penalty is the same too! So is killing in wars.
