New revelation surfaces about Gulf War Two "mystery illness"
Mark Neusche, father of Josh Neusche, one of the Gulf War Two troops to lose his life from the "mystery illness" while serving in iraq, the father stated that his 20 year old son and former track star a non-smoker had "written home on June 26th explaining that he would be going on a 30 hour "hauling mission" but he couldnt disclose what they would be "hauling"". The son stated that he " had been to Saddam Hussein's palace and it was later learned that he had been "hauling" at the Baghdad airport."

(the father also states that the doctor in Germany said his son had been exposed to a "toxin", and there was a bus load of 55 other troops who were being treated for the same thing at the time. The father was there in Germany. This is the soldier from Missouri.)

1. Iraq and the truth
With this bunch in power Truth in Iraq is non-existent. Every day I think the most outrageous thing that could happen has, but I am always wrong. To think that this young man would be drummed out of the army while he lay dying in a coma is beyond any belief. Impeach the whole bunch now.

3. That detail was especially disgusting
now this gang of thieves not only cuts Vet benefits but reclassifies men and women who MIGHT be medical discharges with disability as "retired"? And starts the misery for their families with the denial of the financial assistance to make a final visit. Aren't they just too cute for words. This group is damn lucky that I'm not the wife of a soldier in the ME. Damn lucky because I would make it my life's mission to expose this crowd of jackals.

Mark *my* words. The rank and file is turning against this administration of murderers and thieves and no sweet talking about "our heroes" is going to bring them back come voting day. They'll be voting: ABB.

support a Bush-Cheney Administration.

5. They were the deciding factor in two elections for Bush.
I wonder if any are now wishing they hadn't voted for him. This is so criminal what the administration is doing to the troops and the Iraqis over there. I think we should send in the administration and make the republicans pay for it.

6. You'd think they'd wait to screw the military until they'd stabilized Iraq
At least.

Bushco thinks the military consists only of officers. The others are only death delivery vehicles.

9. The pattern of lies from the Gulf War repeats itself in the Iraq invasion
When are the flag waivers going to learn that soldiers are nothing but props for politicians, and that those same politicians will protect the pharmaceuticals responsible for the unsafe vaccines the soldiers are given.

I am so tired of this shit! I was one of those fortunate enough to read the classified UK Ministry of Defence papers on the probable cause of Gulf War syndrome that were accidentally posted on an unclassified Pentagon website back in 1991, or thereabouts. The British clearly were hot pursuing leads that the cause for the illnesses were possibly due to the cocktail of vaccines given to the soldiers, coupled with the chemicals their uniforms were treated with to ward off desert pests.

Apparently it is the combination, the "cocktail" of vaccines, that is responsible for somehow damaging the immune system of otherwise healthy individuals.

This is a replay of the same shit!

BTW, that stuff that I read was on the internet for about a day before DOD yanked it off saying it was classified. This is another example of security being invoked to cover up things that the public has a legitimate right to know. Protect the corporations is more important than protecting the troops. You won't hear Clear Channels saying that at one of their "Support the Troops" rallies.

10. i dont see how they can cover this up
55 victims ? what were they "hauling", too many extended family members have knowledge and questions.

whatreallyhappened.com has some additional speculation.....

It would be really nice to see some major news outlets carry this story. The father's comments should be sent to every member of congress.

14. If they had these troops inspecting every nook and crannie search for Chem
Edited on Sat Aug-09-03 11:42 PM by KoKo01
Weapons in desperation....it's possible the Iraqi's have "bug problems" just as we in US do. They could have ordered those soldiers into common pesticide production facilities and made them open every vat and vial and maybe even do testing. With no Iraqi's there to tell them what the facilities were (and they wouldn't believed if they did tell the truth) it's likely the soldiers could have been unknowingly inspecting an Iraqi Equivalent to our local Terminex Bug Exterminating facility or any other innocent domestic pesticide or cleaning product production plant. If that stuff isn't handled carefully it can make one very sick. Inhaling powders or fumes while "hauling" them out for testing? Inhaling powders when opening
vats for inspection? One assumes they had their gas masks on....but what if in the heat they didn't.. And, an article here on DU tonight says the gas masks are faulty anyway.

Who knows......but it's all a mess over there.

On Edit: one of the articles does say "hauling from one of Saddam's palaces." That would hardly be a pesticide producing facility. But, the hauling could have been Saddam's expensive furnishings which could be sold or whatever and the soldier may have had other duties after that which caused a toxic exposure. If it was true Chem/bio weapons then Rummy would be glad to report it......so it has to be something that is more innocent....but deadly.

11. Irony
The irony here is that this article suggests that the soldiers were exposed to toxins of a sort, possibly chemical or biological weapons?

If this is the case, then that's what this war might have been all about. And, if so, you would think it would be in the regime's best interest to reveal this. Or are they withholding it for the campaign?

And if it isn't chemical or biological agents, then what is it? Yet another crisis with the truth for the madmen out of control in Washington.

12. when Scott Ritter was asked on C-span
if WMD's could be planted , he stated that it would be too hard to cover up, and there are too many patriotic soldiers who would leak the truth. In addition he said that the UN inspectors had cataloged all of the production sites, and could easily trace what was planted to which facility and expose it as a fraud. Keep in mind it was revealed last week that David Kay is not a scientist of any kind, has no scientific education or training. He is an "international relations" major. So.....how could he possibly be qualified to lead up a "WMD" hunt ?

13. ..and Kay's just dumb enough...
not to know this. And boneheaded enough not to care.

the UN inspectors had cataloged all of the production sites, and could easily trace what was planted to which facility and expose it as a fraud.

No doubt ShrubCo thinks it's sufficent to get into a shouting match with Kay/Rummy/Shrub on one side, and the UN inspectors on the other.

Why is it that more and more I want to stand outside the WH with a great big sign reading "LIAR!" ?
