State Department Warns Against Travel to Haiti

The U.S. State Department has issued another travel warning urging Americans not to go to Haiti until the security situation stabilizes.
The State Department warning Tuesday, says the security situation in Haiti remains unpredictable and potentially dangerous.

The warning said U.S. citizens who remain in Haiti should take precautions to avoid the uncertain security situation in public areas. It also said many parts of Haiti lack an effective police force and that the potential exists for looting, roadblocks set up by armed gangs and other violent crime.

Officials say several kidnappings for ransom have been reported in recent weeks and Americans have been victims in some cases
