Bush adviser Hughes offers her take on president
By Emanuel Parker
Staff Writer

Wednesday, May 26, 2004 - PASADENA -- National security issues will dominate this year's presidential election, which could be decided by a swing vote that has dwindled to 6 percent of the nation's voters, said Karen Hughes The country is so polarized it is evenly divided between Republicans and Democrats, said Hughes, and swing votes, which have shrunk from 16 percent of votes a few years ago, could determine the election.

"This will be a close election and the stakes are as high as in any election I can remember since I've been an adult," said Hughes, a Bush aide since 1994 when he ran for governor of Texas and also counsel to the president during his first 18 months in the White House. A Dallas newspaper said she was "the most powerful woman ever to serve in the White House."

<snip>

If she had to choose one word to describe Bush, Hughes said it would be "engaging," and it makes her angry when people call him a lightweight.

"This president has an MBA from Harvard and is the first president in history to have one. He graduated from Yale with a degree in history. His opponents in Texas started downplaying his intelligence, calling him Shrub, the son of a bush, and the myth has continued."

<snip>

Blech. What a load.

7. Worthless
Shows you how worthless and overrated a Yale degree is these days.

Same for a Harvard MBA.

I swear, if I was a member of the board of trustees at either Yale or Harvard and I conferred a degree on that illiterate bumblefuck, I'd resign in disgrace.

32. Don't say that.
Just like anything that you don't earn, you are what you make of that privilege.

Bush could have learned so much, but coasted as he does every time on his family name.

The economy is first, and the Iraq war is third.

The war on terrorism is way behind those two.

11. An MBA is one of the most over rated degrees that any
univeristy can give out. Most MBAs have had no real business experience prior to receiving their degree. Lots of theroy but no practical experience to back it up.

Edited on Wed May-26-04 07:20 PM by TankLV
His degrees must be gold by comparison, huh fat karen?

And I don't think Kerry just scraped by with a C or D, either.

Graduated with honors.

Bet you're pretty steamed about that too, and all those MEDALS he EARNED in VIETNAM while your pussy boy was AWOL!

41. MBA mills are the source of most of the miserable middle managers
Long enough after their undergrad to have forgotten any useful knowledge - stuffed full of "management" theory that holds no relevance to actually managing people. I swear there must be automatic in for people who lack any social skills or common sense.

42. Bush doesn't have an educated intellect
what bush has is the education of a shady used care salesman. He has the ability to be both manipulative and devious. He can make a person believe he's their best friend and all the while be shoving the knife in deeper. IOWs, he's a common street thug.

22. If I were president I wouldn't want to be the "engaging" president
I would want to be the TOUGH, SMART, DON'T F--- WITH ME president. Even Bush's biggest cheerleader can't come up with a better word to describe him. Also, I don't think Bush is physiologically stupid. I just think he does not CARE to learn other things. He'd rather watch sports on tv, clear brush, ride his bike, and get his neocon goons to do all his work for him. He does not have the INTELLECTUAL CURIOSITY that a leader of the free world should have.

31. I don't have a college degree, Karen
Edited on Wed May-26-04 06:36 PM by JulieRB
"This president has an MBA from Harvard and is the first president in history to have one. He graduated from Yale with a degree in history."

I'm sure Karen will be rushing to set this one up, but I'll sit in a room with * and answer questions from a Harvard history prof anytime, anywhere. I got an A+ in my Western Civ class from my community college prof. I think I'll come out ahead. (Maybe after the little history test, the prof can ask * if he's ever heard the phrase, "Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.")

Considering the last President of the United States holds a JD from Yale and was a Rhodes Scholar, (and his wife also holds a JD from Yale,) Karen's assertion that * is so incredibly intellectual is a crock.

If it wasn't already evident to those reading, it seems that Karen has quite a crush on Bunnypants.
