Bush Seeks Global Support for Iraq Plan

By SCOTT LINDLAW, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites) sought on Tuesday to rally international support for the transfer of power in Iraq (news - web sites), saying that even European leaders who opposed the war now "share the same goal" of a budding democracy.

<snip>

Presidential spokesman Scott McClellan told reporters that Bush and Chirac mutually noted there is "broad agreement" on the outlines of the Security Council resolution but also agreed that "adjustments" must be made in some areas.

Meanwhile in Berlin, Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer of Germany, another skeptical country, said Tuesday he believes the U.S.-British blueprint for the handover of sovereignty in Iraq provides a "very good foundation" for efforts to reach a consensus at the United Nations (news - web sites). The international body is considering a new resolution that would endorse the June 30 handover of power and authorize a U.S.-led multinational force to keep the peace.

Russian's foreign ministry, however, is being more cautious, saying it wants to see what Iraq's caretaker government looks like before it embraces the new security council resolution.

1. ever the diplomat, ever the consensus builder

maybe he can ask "old europe" for support. oops, didn't his team call them irrelevant?

maybe he can ask the UN for help. oops, maybe he should patch things up with them first.

maybe he should ask the Arab world for help. Oops. maybe he should apologize for calling his Middle East policy a crusade.

maybe he and his party should first stop fricking bashing the rest of the world. From pouring wine, to French jokes, to calling the Premier of North Korea a chimp, maybe he and his gang of adolescents should fricking grow up.

what an asshole. he couldn't build consensus to order a pizza, much less build a coalition.

3. Earth to Bush: "The whole freakin' world DESPISES you!!!".
Your arrogant, "holier than thou", "bring it on", deaf to all other voices has lost you any respect or trust from intelligent, balanced people who have a vision of peace and prosperity WITHOUT MASS DESTRUCTION, unlike you.

I despise you, too,...in case you didn't catch onto the obvious.

He dissed those that might have helped 15 months ago and now has little money left to buy allegiances.

5. seems typical Bush tactics
run over everyone and anyone in the way who opposes your stupid actions, insult them, refer to them as not important, spurn their wisdom, sneer at them, and then expect them to support you after you screw everything up simply because you are a Bush and a war president of a rich and powerful country, with a lot of military power to wield. Might work as the fear factor, but Spain for one does not shop in that store.

I think he seriously believes, because he is wildly applauded at events where the audience consists of persons who are hand picked so they will wildly applaud him, that it is the truth that, just as he always knew, he is the greatest "war president" ever.

Further, I think he is very proud that he got all those corporate companies in there, stole the people's country, took everything from them he could, had it built into the constitution of the interim government that they cannot be divested of what they stole, because that was his main reason for the slaughter. The slaughter does not bother him--he is a sociopath, he is not connected to the people of American, nor particulary connected to this country--his daddy is rich, very rich and he can live wherever he wants without having any ties anywhere--just like the wealthiest of all billion dollar corporations. He is only concerned with himself and his product, which is ruthlessly, by killing and murder, by pre-emptive attack, promoting the businesses of his and the Bush family's buddies.

His daughters show some of the same tendency to distance themselves from this country of their birth--they are off to vacation in Europe with friends, before beginning to work on the daddy's campaign.
