More Men Stricken With Breast Cancer
More Men Stricken With Breast Cancer
By Holly VanScoy
HealthDay Reporter

MONDAY, May 24 (HealthDayNews) -- Breast cancer in men has increased significantly over the past two and a half decades, a new study finds.

Although the rise is nowhere near as dramatic as the increase for women over the same period of time, the researchers found that the number of cases rose from 0.86 to 1.08 cases per 100,000 men. They also found that men were typically diagnosed at a later age and at a later stage of the disease than women.

Still, male breast cancer remains uncommon, representing 0.6 percent of all breast cancers and less than 1 percent of cancers in men.

The study, by researchers at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, was led by Dr. Sharon Giordano, an assistant professor of breast medical oncology. It appears in the May 24 online edition of the journal Cancer.

3. Greedy PIGGY Capitalist Corps.
Edited on Mon May-24-04 05:40 PM by Free_Thinker
Spewing their filth into the air, the water, the soil and the food supply is contaminated and all this gasoline in the SUVs and the medical establishment with its slash and burn your way to 'health' and ripoff prices. That is the summation of a sick society and greed is at the base of it all.

Also just recently they said too much mercury in the tuna fish and seafood so said Smirk's government talking pig, then the Smirking Chimp, almost the same day allows the captialist pigs to emit more mercury into the air and so goes the madness of the capitalist consumer talking pig society.

5. Probably due to successes in treatment of heart disease.
Men are not keeling over as early from heart disease, thus you find more breast cancer. Also, better diagnostics and better informed physicians looking for breast cancer in males.

Although the hormones pumped into chickens to make their breasts bigger probably doesn't help anyone.
