Man strips off in peace demo

A PEACE protester stripped off after a meeting with Norwich MP Charles Clarke to raise awareness of civilian casualties of the war in Iraq and the abuse meted out to prisoners.

Norwich Peace Council presented a 300-signature petition to Mr Clarke at the Labour Club in Bethel Street and after the meeting one of the protesters bared nearly all to drive home the point of the protest.

Rupert Read, head of philosophy at the University of East Anglia, removed most of his clothes and put a hood over his head to reflect the abuse of prisoners in Iraq.

Dr Read said his stunt was designed to raise awareness of the atrocities being committed in the name of the British and US Governments.

The last time (apart of the photos of naked women on the way to war that did not make it into the news media in any way, shape or form) that anything like this happened was the roaring sixties. Oh boy... this is GOOD... now lets see if this is picked up by the US Press
