NYPD Officers Get "Terrorism" Cards
Edited on Thu May-20-04 12:33 AM by Lori Price CLG
NYPD Officers Get "Terrorism" Cards

New York City police officials have issued terror prevention tips to patrol cops -- including suspecting people who "express hatred for America."

Cards giving possible indicators of terrorist activity were issued last week to police officers. The cards advise them to call counter-terrorism investigators when they have suspicions over anyone who is, among other things, carrying driver's licenses from different states, videotaping utilities and tunnels or wearing fake uniforms.

New York City police were also told to take note of "overtly hostile" people who "express hatred for America and advocate violence against America and/or Americans," or who "support terrorists and their goals."

Unbelievable...

2. You've got to be kidding me!
Suspect people who seem to hate America? Is that the fucking test for terrorists now? I doubt the real terrorists, who.. according to our government, are living amongst us, are openly displaying a hatred of America. This smacks of stupid Rush Limbaugh shit... Anyone who disagrees with Bush "hates" America, isn't that how it goes now?

3. well, I was prepared to get really pissed off..
but ""express hatred for America and advocate violence against America and/or Americans," or who "support terrorists and their goals."

... doesn't really seem that horrible. As long as they don't equate voting Bush out with "violence against America" and lefties of all stripes as "terrorists."

Then we'd be in trouble!

11. obviously it would be used against leftist... this is america.
we have a historical record of this stuff, whipping up sedition charges and other nonsense to silence speech.

but here's the fun part. we get to send their heads spinning by falsely charging everyone under the sun. so go ahead, charge rupert murdoch. charge william kristol. charge rush limbaugh. charge any right wing nut, preferrably famous, that you can. heck, a little sound clip splicing or out-of-context quoting can be great fun. eventually there'll be so many ridiculous charges floating about that'll bury this ridiculous tactic in a mountain of nonsense.

that's how you deal with crap like this. you take it and run with it until it's patently apparent that it's stupid. and you do it before it's used for nefarious means.

5. Better take down that DU gallery!
The last time I heard or saw anybody who was overtly hostile" people who "express hatred for America and advocate violence against America and/or Americans," or who "support terrorists and their goals.", was a mentally ill guy talking to himself on a busy street corner in San Diego about 10 years ago. Would they really put a guy like that on a card?

6. gee
"express hatred for America and advocate violence against America and/or Americans"

Surely they didnt need stupid fucking cards to tell them people who advocate violence against Americans are to be met with suspicion.

And how can you commit violence against "America AND/OR Americans?" How can you commit an act of violence against America WITHOUT committing an act against Americans. If i punch a hill in Georgia is that violence against America?

7. Well, I guess I'd better stay out of New York.
I'm from out of state and I hate George W. Bush...so, I reckon that means I hate America!

Good luck to all of the protestors for the Republican National Convention!

Can you say N-A-Z-I-S? This country is royally fucked!

It's over for all of us freedom-loving patriots thanks to the Fundies and the Supreme Court!

12. They'll Have to Arrest pResident Bush* When He Arrives
He seems to hate everything America has always stood for,
and has advocated and instigated a lot of violence than
anyone else in the world lately, including 2 wars in as
many years and some truely perverted stuff in the Iraqi
prisons and most likely Gitmo as well.
