Nick Berg's Father Backs Anti-War Stance

Berg father backs anti-war stance

BBC News

Mr Berg blames the US administration for his son's death
The father of Nick Berg - the US civilian beheaded in Iraq - has sent a message of support to the Stop the War Coalition.
Michael Berg contacted the coalition to offer his backing after it sent him a letter of sympathy.

His strongly-worded message will be read out at an anti-war demonstration in London on Saturday.

Mr Berg said that his son had suffered the consequences of policies of the Bush administration. Mr Berg said: "When I eulogized my son, Nick, I said that he was my teacher and my hero. "He was the kindest, gentlest human being I know or have ever known."

One of the march's organisers Chris Nineham told the BBC: "He feels that what needs to come out of the horrific death of his son is that a message has to be sent to Bush and Blair to say that the barbarity of war has to stop." That's his response to the terrible events that have happened to his son.

The Stop The War Coalition with the Muslim Association of Britain and CND have called for the emergency demonstration this Saturday to demand an end to torture in Iraq and the withdrawal of troops from the country.

1. Wow. Statement to be read out loud in London.
Wish stuff like that would happen here in Fascistan.

2. BFEE will begin to smear him now, I think
And smear his son of course. There is already so much that is hard to figure out about the whole Berg case, however, that it is impossible to predict what form the smearing will take. In many ways, I am sure that Bush would prefer that the story just go away - it has provided a distraction from the prison abuse (torture) scandal.

3. They've already muddled the Berg case so we dont know up from down.
They have inserted their own conspiracy theorys here and there, so we run chasing our tails and never get to the truth.

4. That started last week.
They've already been smearing them terribly. The people have not an gram of shame or human compassion amongst them.
