3. not mentioned - the problem with the "cleaning crews"

at Walmart - where the company hired "contractors" and paid very little - and some subcontractors, I believe, were found to have brought people to the US for huge fees and then kept the workers essentially imprisoned and working the night shift doing janitorial work at Walmart. If I recall the contractors were doing the old "company town" deal - where they would charge the workers out the wazoo for things like "rent" - at a higher rate (or comparable) to what the workers earned. Leaving the worker in a situation even worse than the old indentured servant model where at least the indentured servant could learn a trade and earn money and their "freedom."
