7. Midas? You're being gracious.
I commend the term Merde-as touch to your attention.

Just a suggestion.

3. Is that the plant that
had all of those boxes with labels of "Made in America" on them with stuff from China inside?

I wonder what those employees think of Shrub now?

'Made in China' Label a Problem? Just Cover It Up

Campaigning in St. Louis for his latest proposal to cut taxes for the wealthy, President George W. Bush spoke Jan. 22 from a warehouse. Behind him was a sign saying “Strengthening America’s Economy” on a backdrop made to look like stacks of cartons prominently marked Made in USA. In front of him was an array of real cartons—with white paper and tape concealing Made in China imprints. According to news reports, the boxes contained flowered headbands imported from China.

Bush appeared at the trucking company warehouse to make the claim that his economic proposal—which carries a $925 billion price tag over 10 years when interest costs are added to tax cuts he is seeking—would help small businesses. News reports say an overly helpful volunteer covered up the embarrassing Made in China labels.

If this is true, it's the perfect Kerry campaign ad.

8. Those bearings could have gone into American-made wind turbines...
Timken had a booth at Global Windpower 2004. I talked briefly with a couple reps, learning that there are truly massive-sized bearings in all wind turbines, hundreds of them

Assuming Kerry gets elected and can put his 20/20 renewable energy plan into effect -- assuming the repugs don't block it out of spite -- we're going to need those bearings and those jobs and the machinery. We'll probably end up buying them from China! Yesh!
