MoD: Four arrested over hoax photos

Four soldiers have been arrested and questioned over the Daily Mirror Iraq abuse picture scandal, the Ministry of Defence said.

The men were arrested, quizzed and released without charge before Friday's sacking of Mirror editor Piers Morgan.

An MoD spokesman said the paper had been helping them with their investigation into the source of the fake pictures of Iraqis being abused.

The MoD have not released any details of the identities of the four soldiers.

Edit: don't know if it's connected but Daily Mirror editor Piers Morgan's brother is an Army officer, serving in Basra.

1. Weren't some Royal Army types busted a year or so ago?

They had been involved in some, er, romantic escapades with tied-down Iraq POWs?

Of course, these incidents are unrelated with the current situation. Inquiring mindless wants to know.

2. Shouldn't the MOD be investigating the abuses and torture detailed...

in the Red Cross report instead of this??? It is soooo obvious that they are trying to negate the truth of what happened in Iraq with these faux photos. I have faith in the people of Britain that they will NOT succeed in this obfuscation.
