Anti-Abortion Extremist Sentenced to 18 Years for Child Molestation

This just happened this afternoon, it is also in the Pensacola News Journal on-line afternoon edition.

"Anti-abortion extremist John Burt was sentenced today to over 18 years in prison for molesting a 15-year-old girl. A jury in Pensacola, Florida found him guilty of four counts of lewd or lascivious molestation and one count of lewd or lascivious contact in early April. The young girl was living at Our Father’s House, Burt’s so-called home for “unwed” mothers, at the time. Her family may sue Burt for the girl’s emotional damage."

9. this is an extreme case, but it clearly demonstrates how a right-to-lifer

only sees the unborn as having rights to a decent life, and once you're out of the womb, you're nothing but a piece of meat. it's the exact inverse of what right-to-life should mean. those who are living are the ones whose lives should be protected, and whose rights should be protected.

14. I'd really like to see the national consciousness wake

up to the fact that pedophiles seek out children and just like bank robbers go where the money is, pedophiles go to where the children are, meaning schools, daycares, foster parenting and adoption, orphanages and especially churches. Anywhere children are likely to be unsupervised or unprotected is a place or career that will attract pedophiles. I received questionable treatment from my family pediatrician, who also actually referred to my 6 year old cousin's vagina as a "little p----" right in front of her mother. I have a friend who was molested by her dentist every time she went for an appointment during her childhood. It's a shame that one can't trust innocent people, but that is the truth, and that is the sole reason I will never have children, because I would never let them out of my site based on my own experiences in childhood. We need to wake up as a nation and really let this reality sink in, that some, however few, people seek out these professions and environments soley for the fact that they offer unsupervised access to children.
